Job Description: Civil Chargehand
Job Summary
The Civil Chargehand will be responsible for supervising and coordinating on-site civil construction activities ensuring work is executed as per drawings specifications safety standards and project timelines. This role acts as a key link between site engineers and the workforce ensuring productivity quality and compliance at the site level.
Key Responsibilities
Supervise daily civil construction activities including concrete works masonry plastering and finishing works
Allocate tasks to masons helpers and subcontract workers and monitor their performance
Ensure work is carried out as per approved drawings specifications and site instructions
Coordinate with site engineers to plan daily work schedules and resource requirements
Maintain quality standards and ensure proper workmanship at all stages of construction
Monitor material usage minimize wastage and report material requirements to site management
Ensure compliance with safety rules site policies and toolbox talk instructions
Identify site issues delays or technical challenges and report them promptly
Maintain basic site records such as daily work progress and manpower deployment
Support timely completion of activities to meet project deadlines
Essential Qualifications
ITI / Diploma in Civil Engineering or equivalent practical experience
Skills Required
Strong knowledge of civil construction methods and site practices
Ability to read and understand basic construction drawings
Good leadership and team-handling skills
Basic understanding of quality control and safety practices
Effective communication and coordination skills
Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
