Job Title: CNC Setup Technician (Milling & Turning)

Job Summary

The CNC Setup Technician will be responsible for the complete setup preparation and commissioning of CNC milling and turning machines to ensure accurate efficient and high-quality production. The role requires hands-on expertise in machine setup tooling fixture alignment and blueprint interpretation for multi-axis CNC machines. The technician will work closely with production programming and quality teams to ensure smooth operations and adherence to machining standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform complete machine setup for CNC milling and turning operations including job loading fixture alignment and tool setup.
  

• Set up and operate the following CNC machines:
  

  • Doosan DNM 750 Milling Machine (4-axis)
    

  • Doosan PUMA 2100LY Turning Machine
    

  • Haas 750 Milling Machine (5-axis)
    

• Interpret and work accurately from engineering drawings blueprints and technical specifications.
  

• Load and verify CNC programs conduct dry runs and ensure machine readiness before production.
  

• Select appropriate cutting tools tool holders fixtures and work offsets based on job requirements.
  

• Measure and inspect first-off components using precision measuring instruments to ensure dimensional accuracy.
  

• Make necessary adjustments to machine settings to achieve optimal quality tolerance and surface finish.
  

• Support production teams by troubleshooting setup-related issues and minimizing downtime.
  

• Ensure compliance with safety standards quality procedures and machining best practices.
  

• Maintain setup documentation tooling records and machine setup sheets.
  

Essential Qualifications

• Diploma or ITI in Mechanical Engineering CNC Machining Tool & Die or a related technical discipline.
  

• Mandatory hands-on setup experience of 35 years in CNC milling and turning machines.
  

• Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings (mandatory).
  

Skills & Competencies

• Proven expertise in CNC machine setup for 4-axis and 5-axis milling and advanced turning machines.
  

• Strong knowledge of tooling fixtures cutting parameters and machining processes.
  

• Proficiency in using measuring instruments such as vernier calipers micrometers bore gauges and height gauges.
  

• Good understanding of CNC machining principles tolerances and surface finish requirements.
  

• Ability to identify and resolve setup and machining issues efficiently.
  

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality standards.
  

• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with production and engineering teams.
