AECOM are currently seeking an experienced Strategy & Growth lead to join our Buildings Design team. The Associate Strategy & Growth plays a pivotal role in driving business expansion and strategic initiatives across the assigned discipline or practice. This role combines analytical rigor with business acumen to identify growth opportunities support strategic planning and leading complex bid and proposal efforts mentoring the bid team and ensuring the quality compliance and competitiveness of submissions. The role requires a proactive detail-oriented professional with strong leadership analytical and communication skills.
Responsibilities:
- Works independently to identify and pursue new business prospects while collaborating cross-functionally to align efforts with broader organisational goals.
- May oversee junior business development staff providing guidance and ensuring alignment with strategic objectives.
- Applies technical and commercial knowledge to support hands-on development of cost proposals and business cases.
- Apply negotiation techniques and consensus-building skills to support deal-making and partnership development.
- Review tender documents qualification requests and drawings to inform proposal content and strategy.
- Develop cost proposals and ensure inclusion of legal contractual and risk-related qualifications.
- Plan organise and manage bid activities across assigned disciplines and territories.
- Deliver high-quality proposals within established deadlines maintaining accountability for task-level financial performance and ensuring timely completion.
- Work closely with Discipline Leads to develop methodologies execution plans schedules and workforce hour estimates.
- Identify and communicate new business targets prospects and pursuits to senior leadership.
- Ensure that all proposal activities comply with company policies procedures and governance frameworks including EMIA Delegations of Authority and directives from the Middle East Risk Committee.
- Participate in go/no-go decision-making processes and contribute to operational planning and implementation.
- Monitor active bids and provide weekly status reports to the Bids and Proposals Unit.
- Prepare internal and external reports and presentations to support strategic and operational objectives.
- Independently develop bid strategies and support client presentations to enhance win probability and client confidence.
Qualifications :
- Bachelors Degree in either Engineering / Architecture.
- Strong understanding of the role of an LDC within the built environment
- 8 years experience within an advisory or engineering consulting environment
