Summary
The Room Attendant is responsible for ensuring that guest rooms are clean well-maintained and prepared for check-in. This includes performing cleaning tasks replenishing amenities and providing excellent service to enhance guest satisfaction and the overall guest experience. The Room Attendant plays a key role in maintaining the hotels cleanliness standards and promoting a comfortable environment for all guests.
Responsibilities
- Report for duty promptly wearing the correct uniform and nametag consistently.
- Clean and service guest rooms by vacuuming dusting polishing and wiping surfaces including furniture fixtures and windows following the Sequence of Service and Standard Operating Procedures established by management.
- Report any maintenance issues damages or missing items to the Housekeeping Supervisor or maintenance team.
- Ensure all amenities (e.g. soap shampoo linens) are properly set up according to standards and in good condition.
- Respond to guest requests for additional items such as extra pillows towels or blankets promptly and courteously.
- Follow all safety and hygiene procedures for handling cleaning chemicals and equipment.
- Ensure the safe storage and use of cleaning supplies.
- Assist in organizing and preparing the room for special guest requests or services.
- Maintain communication with the front desk regarding room availability and status.
- Keep track of inventory levels and notify the supervisor when supplies need replenishing.
- Submit lost and found items to security in accordance with the policy.
- Report valuable items to security as per the security guidelines.
- Assist in other housekeeping tasks or departmental projects as needed.
- Provide guests with a courteous and professional service at all times.
- Perform any other duties or responsibilities as assigned by management to support the effective operation of the department and the broader goals of the property.
Qualifications :
Experience/Certificates/Education
- High school diploma or equivalent is preferred
- Proven experience in housekeeping or a related field is a plus.
- Knowledge of cleaning methods materials and equipment.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and carry moderate to heavy loads.
- Stamina to be on your feet for extended periods.
- Flexibility to bend stoop and reach
