Role Description:

The role is based in Dubai (United Arab Emirates) and will support the growing Fugro business in Iraq particularly for clients in the oil and gas industry.

-Provide full leadership of assigned projects and programs.

-Ensure delivery of the contract scope in strict alignment with QHSE commercial technical and contractual requirements.

-Lead senior project teams.

-Drive profitable delivery.

-Manage client relationship at executive level. Supports business development and positioning.

Role Specific Requirements:

- Degree Civil Engineering or equivalent in experience is required.

- Understanding of and experienced in projects and personnel management are essential.

- Minimum 10 years of relevant work experience in similar roles including commercial technical and management experience.

- Keen commercial awareness.

- Self-motivated pro-active committed and flexible with strong problem-solving skills.

- Ability to work effectively in a multi-national and multi-cultural work environment.

- Excellent verbal and written skills both internally and with Client (English is essential and Arabic is a plus).

Organisational Context

Works closely with General Manager Division Managers Operations and Commercial functions to ensure projects are resourced supported and delivered in line with business objectives.

Key responsibilities

Staff Management and Development

- Maintain a positive work culture and encourage team working.

- Train motivate and coach the team.

- Manage work by communicating task expectations planning monitoring and appraising task results.

- Work with each individual to set annual and semi-annual objectives in line with business strategy and individual development requirements and follow-up on the achievement of these objectives.

Project Execution

- Ensure efficient execution and delivery of projects within agreed schedules and according to client expectations.

- Supervise and monitor project management team and provide direction support mentoring and assistance as necessary.

- Supervise the preparation of project execution plans method statements schedules QHSE plans and risk assessments to address client requirements and in line with Fugros procedures.

- Provide weekly resource planning and utilization plan to ensure that proper planning is in place for the execution of ongoing and future projects.

- Coordinate with the project managers and other division managers.

Client Management and Interface

- Maintain regular contact with key clients and prospective clients via regular visits meetings calls etc.

- Attend and conduct regular internal/external technical project meetings kick-off meetings and safety sessions.

Revenue

- Generate work from ongoing projects and existing clients.

- Identify opportunities and develop new clients.

KPIs

- Delivery of project milestones to baseline

- Client satisfaction feedback at management level

- Portfolio performance against revenue and margin targets

Experience and Knowledge

Education : Bachelor - Engineering degree Civil Engineering in Geotechnical or Geology

Working experience : 10-20 years Commercial Technical and Practical Project Management

Management Experience : 5-10 years Management of Projects and Personnel

Languages & Proficiency : English Proficient

Arabic is a plus
