The Operations & Maintenance (O&M) Engineer will play a key role in ensuring the seamless integration of long-term operational and maintenance requirements into the design and delivery of complex transportation and infrastructure projects. This includes roads bridges tunnels ports airports rail systems and other social or digital infrastructure assets. The position serves as a critical interface between Operations and EPC design teams to ensure operational excellence lifecycle efficiency and compliance with performance KPIs.
General Description of Role and Responsibilities:
- Act as the principal liaison between Operations and EPC design teams to ensure O&M requirements are embedded into design and construction phases.
- Evaluate and influence design to enhance asset reliability safety and maintainability throughout the project lifecycle.
- Embed operational best practices and sustainability principles to optimize lifecycle costs reduce operational expenditure (OpEx) and improve energy efficiency.
- Review design documentation to ensure compliance with operational standards performance targets and regulatory requirements.
- Support the development and implementation of O&M strategies manuals and procedures for major PPP and EPC infrastructure projects.
- Conduct Life Cycle Cost Analysis (LCCA) to support design and asset management decisions.
- Monitor and report on compliance with performance KPIs to mitigate operational risks and avoid penalties to the Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV).
- Contribute to energy-efficient and smart infrastructure solutions through data-driven operational insights.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure maintainability accessibility and safety during operation and maintenance stages.
Qualifications Experience Knowledge and Skills:
- Bachelors degree in mechanical Electrical Civil or Industrial Engineering (or related discipline).
- 10 years of experience in operations and maintenance engineering within large-scale infrastructure or PPP/EPC projects.
- Experience in construction consultancy is mandatory.
- Proven expertise in integrating O&M considerations into design development for transportation or utility assets.
- Strong knowledge of Life Cycle Cost Analysis (LCCA) asset management frameworks and reliability-centered maintenance.
- Familiarity with international O&M standards KPIs and performance management systems.
- Experience with energy-efficient systems smart infrastructure and sustainability initiatives preferred.
- Excellent communication and coordination skills with the ability to influence design and technical teams.
