Job Summary
We are seeking a talented and dedicated Commis I - Cold Kitchen to join our culinary team in Dubai United Arab Emirates. As a key member of our kitchen staff you will assist in the preparation of cold dishes salads and appetizers contributing to our commitment to culinary excellence and customer satisfaction.
- Assist in preparing mise-en-place for salads appetizers dressings and cold platters
- Support the creation of buffet presentations and à la carte cold items
- Ensure consistent food quality portion control and adherence to recipes and plating guidelines for cold dishes
- Maintain proper storage and freshness of ingredients
- Keep workstations clean and organized in compliance with HACCP and local regulations
- Assist senior chefs in daily operations and contribute to a smooth workflow
- Monitor and record temperatures of refrigerators and cold rooms
- Manage stock levels and report shortages to senior chefs
- Uphold safety hygiene and sanitation standards at all times
- Collaborate with other kitchen sections during service
- Contribute to menu development and seasonal dish creation
Qualifications :
- 1-2 years of experience in a similar role within a hotel or restaurant setting
- Solid understanding of culinary techniques particularly in cold kitchen preparations
- Proficiency in food safety practices and HACCP principles
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure and follow instructions accurately
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
- Excellent time-management and organizational abilities
- Passion for culinary excellence and continuous learning
- Knowledge of international cuisine and current culinary trends
- Ability to read and follow recipes accurately
- Flexibility to work in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities
- Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 pounds
- High school diploma or equivalent; culinary school certificate preferred
