Role Overview
As Principal Civil Engineer you will play a key leadership role in the enhancement of a large deep sewage pump station. You will provide civil engineering expertise during the Design Build and Operate (DBO) contract phase ensuring the highest standards of quality safety and resilience are embedded in the upgraded pumping station. You will ensure the delivery of a highly resilient efficient and technically advanced pumping station guiding the contractor in best practices for civil and hydraulic design and integration.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the technical authority on all civil and hydraulic engineering matters
- Review comment and approve civil and hydraulic design submittals from the DBO contractor
- Ensure the design complies with international standards and client specifications related to sewerage and largescale pump stations
- Conduct regular site inspections lead technical coordination meetings and resolve construction challenges in realtime
- Collaborate with the PMC Engineering team and other stakeholders to ensure seamless interdisciplinary integration
- Support in risk assessments constructability reviews and the development of design and construction strategies.
- Provide technical input into project progress reports change requests and variation claims as required
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering (Masters preferred)
- Minimum 15 years of experience in sewerage infrastructure projects including at least 5 years in large pumping stations
- Strong experience in the design and/or rehabilitation of wastewater infrastructure
- Proven understanding of hydraulic design and flood resilience design principles and integration with electromechanical systems
- Experience working in a PMC or clientrepresentative capacity is highly desirable
- Proficient in design and review tools (e.g. AutoCAD hydraulic design software)
- Strong knowledge of relevant codes (e.g. EN BS ACI local standards)
- Excellent coordination communication and report writing skills
