Child & Adolescent Clinical Psychologist

Our client, a well-established government hospital, is currently looking for a Child & Adolescent Clinical Psychologist to be based in Dubai. The main objective of this role is to reduce the distress and improve the psychological wellbeing of children, adolescents and their families; who may have a variety of mental or physical health conditions through evidence-based practice. In this role, you will have the following responsibilities:

• Competently Assesses patients and family’s’ needs, abilities or behavior using a variety of methods, including psychometric tests, interviews and direct observation of their behavior

• Devises, monitors, and adapts appropriate treatment programme, including therapy, counselling, or advice, in collaboration with colleagues.

• Works as part of a multidisciplinary team alongside doctors, nurses, social workers, education professionals, health visitors, psychiatrists and occupational therapists.

• Offers therapy and treatments for issues relating to a range of mental health conditions

• Develops and evaluates service provision for patients

• Provides consultation to other professions, encouraging a psychological approach in their work

• Carries out applied research, adding to the evidence base of practice in a variety of healthcare settings.

Requirements

• Bachelor Degree in Psychology and at least six years of post-graduate degree in Clinical Psychology from an accredited institute/college/university or a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Master’s Degree in Clinical Psychology, and PsyD (Doctor of Psychology)

• A minimum of 2 years as Clinical Psychologist in a multidisciplinary clinical setting or hospital or a mental healthcare service provider or a minimum of 1 year as Clinical Psychologist in a multidisciplinary clinical setting or hospital or a mental healthcare service provider

• A current license/registration to practice as Clinical Psychologist.

• Willing to be based in Dubai
