Job Description

Roles and responsibilities

1. Basic Task Execution:

  • Following Instructions: Ability to understand and follow instructions provided by supervisors or more experienced workers.
  • Manual Labor: In some industries (e.g., construction, manufacturing), physical tasks may be required, such as lifting, carrying, or assembling materials.

2. Reliability and Punctuality:

  • Consistency: Ensuring that tasks are performed consistently and according to set standards.
  • Time Management: Being punctual and completing tasks on time as assigned by supervisors or team leaders.

3. Communication Skills:

  • Clear Communication: The ability to ask questions when unclear, follow instructions, and communicate progress or issues effectively with supervisors or team members.
  • Team Collaboration: Helping team members and supporting their work by ensuring tasks are completed as part of the larger team goal.

4. Attention to Detail:

  • Accuracy: Ensuring that tasks are completed with a focus on detail to avoid mistakes or errors in the workflow.
  • Organization: Keeping work areas or materials organized to ensure efficiency and prevent disruptions.

5. Adaptability:

  • Flexibility: Willingness to take on different types of tasks or work in varying environments, adapting to changing work conditions.
  • Learning: Being open to learning new skills or techniques that can improve performance on the job.

6. Physical Stamina (if applicable):

  • In physically demanding roles (e.g., construction, warehousing), having the physical strength to lift or carry objects, as well as endurance for long working hours, can be important.

Responsibilities of a Helper:

  1. Assisting with Basic Tasks:

    • Supporting Colleagues: Helping team members with a variety of tasks, such as setting up equipment, carrying materials, or maintaining work areas.
    • General Labor: Performing basic labor tasks like cleaning, sorting, moving objects, or preparing work areas.
    • Running Errands: Taking care of small errands such as fetching supplies, delivering messages, or collecting items needed for the task at hand.
  2. Maintaining Work Areas:

    • Cleaning and Organizing: Ensuring the work environment is clean, organized, and free from hazards, particularly in fields like construction or healthcare.
    • Safety Support: Helping to maintain a safe work environment by following safety protocols and assisting in the setup or removal of safety equipment.
  3. Providing Support in Specialized Tasks:

    • Assisting Skilled Workers: Supporting more skilled workers by providing them with tools, equipment, or materials as needed during the work process.
    • Preparation of Materials: Preparing materials or setting up equipment for the main task or project.
  4. Supporting Logistics:

    • Inventory Management: Assisting in organizing or tracking inventory to ensure the necessary materials are available for a task or project.
    • Transportation Assistance: Helping with the transportation of goods, materials, or products, either within a facility or between locations.

Desired candidate profile

Ensure proper stock handling & assume full responsibilities and ownership of the loaded goods during delivery process and in warehouse. Complete assigned job and responsibilities at given timetable.

What you will do: -

Description of Accountability:

Operational accountabilities:

  • Demonstrate punctuality, reliability, work ethics, discipline and maintain company assets.
  • Takes ownership of company assets and goods to ensure that they are not duly exposed to risk and potential losses.
  • Ability to work in vehicle/container offloading & loading (Inbound & Outbound activities).

Field Behaviour:

  • Ensures that products are handled with due care during container offloading, binning and picking.
  • Coordinates with superiors in case a problem arises during warehouse activity.
  • Represents the company in a professional manner to maintain customer confidence & satisfaction.

Reporting Activities:

  • Health, safety and Security

Required Skills to be successful:

  • Organizing skills
  • Basic organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to work in a team and follow instructions.

What equips you for the role:

  • Basic matriculation and physically fit.
  • 2-3 years’ experience will be added advantage
