Roles and responsibilities
The role incumbent is responsible for planning and coordination of the operating room scheduling system in conjunction with the Anaesthesiologists and Nurse Managers; and supervise the overall functioning of the Daily Schedule Coordination.
Description Of The Tasks
- At all times promotes optimal and effective patient safety practices to other HealthHub colleagues, patients and their families.
- Support the Theatre department activities related to the management of data, analysis and accurate presentation.
- Support all aspects of HealthHub compliance activities and assisting the continuous compliance with and adherence to the accreditation Standards
- Respects patients and their families to promote a patient-centred care culture.
- Participates in and supports quality improvement and patient safety activities.
- Takes surgery bookings from authorized sources and prepares/disseminates the daily surgery schedule.
- Serve as the main contact within the Operating Theatre and maintain the procedure board and relay information as necessary.
- Responsible for the confidentiality of information that they access to or came across during their work at HealthHub.
- Participate in educational opportunities related to the functions of the department.
- Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.
- Ability to coordinate, track and effectively communicate frequently changing surgery schedule.
- Ability to work with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail, to work well under pressure and to work effectively with others.
- Ability to prioritize and organize tasks and disseminate information.
- Submit the needed quality data on the agreed timeframe
- Maintain the stocks inventory in theatre for all the consumables in the theatre.
- To maintain the Par level for the stocks in the theatre.
- Participate in indenting the stocks and maintaining the stocks, inflow and the outflow accurately.
- To participate in the other department related activities allocated by the manager.
Education:
Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline, preferably in Healthcare Management, Nursing or Science.
Desired candidate profile
- Minimum 2 years UAE healthcare experience in a similar role
- Require the basic knowledge in UAE authority approvals
- Excellent computer skills with desire to increase efficiency by the use of an automated surgical scheduling system and other computer applications such as spreadsheets, word processing, calendar, e-mail and database software in performing work assignments.
- Knowledge of medical terminology required to be successful.
