Roles and responsibilities

Are you ready to join a dynamic team and make a significant impact in the automotive industry? We are on the lookout for an experienced Parts Picker for Lexus in Dubai Investment Park (DIP). In this role, you will manage the spare parts warehouse operations, ensuring that stock is maintained according to the 7 storage principles and inventory management standards. As a Parts Picker, you will play a crucial role in the parts department, handling tasks such as ordering, receiving, binning, packing, and supplying parts as per delivery orders (workshop, retail counter, recall, Inter Branch Transfer). You will also support the Parts Sales representatives in delivering an exceptional customer experience.

What You Will Do

• Methodically arrange stock by binning the right part in the right location.
• Ensure the accuracy of parts order quantities to meet business requirements.
• Pick, pack, and deliver the correct parts to all parties.
• Comply with Dealer Management System inventory processes and Standard Operating Procedures.
  

Required Skills To Be Successful

• At least 2 years of relevant experience as a Parts Man / Picker.
• Ability to recognize and understand part numbers and alpha/numeric codes, and follow written instructions and documented procedures.
• Basic knowledge of parts catalogues.
• Good physical stamina to stand and walk for the duration of work, and the ability to lift, carry, and maneuver heavy materials or equipment up to 30 lbs.

Desired candidate profile

1. Locating Parts:

   • Identifying and locating specific parts in a warehouse or inventory system based on work orders, sales orders, or assembly instructions.
   • Using tools like pick lists, barcodes, or RFID scanners to find the right parts in a large inventory.

2. Picking and Retrieving Parts:

   • Physically picking parts from shelves, bins, or pallets to fulfill orders.
   • Ensuring that parts are in good condition and that quantities match the order.

3. Packaging and Preparing Parts:

   • Packaging or organizing parts for shipment or delivery to other departments.
   • Labeling parts accurately for shipping, which may involve using barcode scanners or manual labeling systems.

4. Inventory Management:

   • Keeping track of parts and ensuring proper inventory levels.
   • Assisting with stock taking and reporting any discrepancies between inventory records and physical stock.

5. Quality Control:

   • Checking parts for any damage or defects before picking.
   • Ensuring that only high-quality parts are delivered to the next stage of production or to customers.

6. Safety and Cleanliness:

   • Ensuring the workplace remains clean, organized, and safe for handling parts.
   • Following safety guidelines while using equipment like forklifts, pallet jacks, or conveyor belts.

Skills and Qualities Required:

1. Attention to Detail:

   • Parts pickers need to be able to identify parts accurately, check for damages, and follow specific instructions.

2. Organizational Skills:

   • Being able to efficiently manage parts and keep track of inventory, especially in large-scale operations.

3. Physical Stamina:

   • This role may involve standing for long periods, lifting heavy items, or walking around large warehouses to collect parts.

4. Technical Skills:

   • Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS), barcode scanners, or RFID technology can be beneficial.

5. Problem-Solving:

   • The ability to deal with discrepancies in inventory or issues with parts and find appropriate solutions.

6. Communication:

   • Clear communication with supervisors, colleagues, or other departments to ensure the correct parts are picked and delivered on time.
