Roles and responsibilities
- Ensure all employees consistently implement the Company’s HSE policies and procedures
- Promote HSE awareness to field personnel to develop safe working behaviour
- Conduct onsite inspection (site working environment, equipment, vehicles, facilities) and daily tours to ensure that work practices comply with standards in NMDC Group’s HSE Manual and project-specific HSE requirements.
- Identify and report HSE Observation and LSR violation
- Verify HSE requirements for each work scope
- Verify implementation of FRA control measures
- Verify Sub-Contractors HSE performance and implementation of NMDC Group HSE standards
- Carry out effective HSE induction programs for NMDC Group and subcontractors personnel to ensure HSE requirements and standards awareness. Ensure that updated emergency response procedures are in place and that all personnel knows their respective roles. Coordinate with site management teams to conduct regular emergency drills to ensure the highest level of preparedness in any emergency
- Participate in the investigation of accidents/incidents and near-misses
- Monitor the maintenance and inspection of life-saving and fire-fighting equipment. Ensure that adequate emergency equipment is available and maintained in optimum operating condition
- Participate in onsite HSE internal meetings as a facilitator during the delivery of toolbox talks
- Prepare weekly and monthly site HSE reports and statistics for further action by senior colleagues
Minimum Requirement:
- Minimum 03 years of related work experience in similar industries
- Diploma in a related field, or equivalent
- Holder of NEBOSH / IOSH Diploma or an equivalent internationally recognised HSE certification is preferable
Desired candidate profile
. Knowledge of Health, Safety, and Environmental Regulations
- A thorough understanding of relevant national and international HSE laws and standards (e.g., OSHA in the U.S., or OSHA equivalents in other countries, ISO 14001 for environmental management, and ISO 45001 for occupational health and safety).
- Staying updated with changing laws and industry best practices.
2. Risk Assessment and Management
- Ability to conduct detailed risk assessments, identify potential hazards in the workplace, and develop strategies to mitigate those risks.
- Experience in implementing and monitoring risk management programs to ensure ongoing safety and environmental protection.
3. Environmental Management
- Knowledge of environmental conservation practices, sustainability, and waste management systems.
- Understanding of the environmental impacts of specific industries (e.g., construction, manufacturing, or oil and gas) and implementing practices to reduce these impacts.
- Experience with environmental audits and inspections to ensure compliance with environmental laws and regulations.
4. Health and Safety Training
- Ability to design and conduct health and safety training for employees to ensure they understand workplace hazards and the necessary safety protocols.
- Experience in delivering emergency response training, first-aid training, and fire safety training.
5. Incident Investigation and Reporting
- Skills in investigating workplace accidents, near-misses, and environmental incidents to determine their causes and propose corrective actions.
- Ability to prepare detailed reports on incidents, findings, and corrective actions for management and regulatory agencies.
6. Emergency Preparedness and Response
- Knowledge of emergency procedures, including fire safety, chemical spills, natural disasters, and workplace accidents.
- Ability to create and manage emergency response plans and coordinate drills to ensure preparedness in case of emergencies.
7. Auditing and Compliance
- Conducting regular HSE audits to ensure that the workplace is compliant with health, safety, and environmental laws.
- Keeping records of safety inspections, environmental impact assessments, and compliance certifications.
8. Communication Skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for drafting safety policies, reporting incidents, and conveying safety protocols to employees at all levels.
- Ability to communicate complex health, safety, and environmental concepts to diverse audiences in clear and understandable terms.
