Job Description

Roles and responsibilities

  • A Communications Intern is typically a student or recent graduate who works in an organization’s communications department to gain practical experience in various aspects of communications, including public relations, corporate communications, social media management, content creation, and media relations. This role offers hands-on learning opportunities and exposure to how companies or organizations communicate with internal and external audiences.

  • Assist in creating an editorial content calendar for PR & social media
  • Research industry trends and data that can be leveraged for social media
  • Market/media research and reporting activities to monitor and track marketing KPIs
  • Write, edit and review copy for other communication deliverables
  • Create, design, and edit content with tools such as Photoshop, Canva and video editing programs Must have excellent PowerPoint skills and the ability to create presentations that impress!
  • Coordinating with other marketing/communications staff, technical staff, and company leadership
  • Supporting administrative tasks associated with our external and internal events
  • Help execute a variety of companywide experiences and events
  • Support the communications team as needed in a variety of hands-on roles and projects

What do I need to qualify for this job?

  • Recent University degree in Communication, Media, PR or Marketing from reputable university or college
  • First experience in communication Environment ideally from an international business set up.
  • Initial Professional Experience in event marketing, social media & digital marketing campaigns, and ideally employee engagement.
  • Excellent communication skills, rounded with fluent level in Business English while Arabic is big advantage
  • Customer oriented with clear drive for quality work.

Desired candidate profile

1. Content Creation and Writing

  • Writing Blog Posts and Articles: Assisting in writing content for the company’s blog, newsletters, or website, ensuring that it aligns with the organization's voice and messaging.
  • Press Releases: Drafting or assisting with the creation of press releases, announcements, or media statements that communicate key messages to external audiences.
  • Social Media Posts: Creating and scheduling content for social media platforms, ensuring that posts are engaging, on-brand, and consistent with the company’s overall communication strategy.

2. Media Relations

  • Media Monitoring: Tracking media coverage of the organization or industry trends, summarizing key reports, and presenting findings to the team.
  • Press Clippings: Compiling press clippings and reports to monitor the media’s portrayal of the company and measure the effectiveness of public relations efforts.
  • Outreach Support: Assisting with outreach to journalists, bloggers, or influencers to pitch stories or coordinate interviews.

3. Internal Communications

  • Employee Newsletters: Helping to create internal communications, such as employee newsletters, updates, or intranet content, to keep employees informed about company news and initiatives.
  • Event Coordination: Assisting in the coordination of internal events, such as meetings, training sessions, or team-building activities, to enhance internal communication and engagement.

4. Social Media Management

  • Managing Social Accounts: Supporting the management of social media accounts (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Twitter, etc.), including content scheduling, community engagement, and monitoring analytics.
  • Analytics and Reporting: Reviewing social media metrics and performance reports to help analyze engagement, reach, and effectiveness of campaigns.

5. Event Planning and Execution

  • Event Support: Assisting with the planning and execution of company events, conferences, webinars, or trade shows, helping to promote and manage logistics.
  • Event Promotion: Creating promotional content for events, such as email invitations, social media posts, and event flyers.
