Job Description

Roles and responsibilities

  • Payroll Processing:

    • Automated Payroll Runs: Oracle HCM Payroll allows businesses to automate payroll processing by configuring payroll runs based on predefined cycles (weekly, bi-weekly, monthly, etc.).
    • Employee Data Integration: Seamless integration with employee information from Oracle Core HR and other modules to ensure that payroll is based on the most up-to-date employee data (e.g., salary, benefits, deductions, etc.).
    • Payroll Calculations: Supports complex payroll calculations, including wages, overtime, bonuses, and deductions. It can handle varying pay structures and rules (e.g., salary vs. hourly, different pay scales).
    • Cost Distribution: Distributes payroll costs accurately across departments, projects, or business units based on predefined rules, helping track labor costs for financial reporting.
  • Tax Calculation and Compliance:

    • Tax Updates: Oracle HCM Payroll is updated regularly to reflect changes in tax laws, ensuring compliance with regional, state, or national tax regulations. It can calculate various taxes, such as federal, state, local income taxes, social security, and other payroll-related deductions.
    • Multi-Country Support: It supports payroll operations in multiple countries and handles compliance with local tax laws, labor regulations, and statutory benefits requirements.
    • Withholding and Reporting: Automatically calculates tax withholdings, and generates required tax filings (e.g., W-2 forms in the U.S. or P60 forms in the UK).
  • Payroll Integration:

    • Integration with Financials: Integrates with Oracle Financials or other enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems for accounting, cost management, and financial reporting. This ensures accurate transfer of payroll data to the general ledger.
    • Third-Party Integrations: Supports integrations with third-party applications or systems, such as benefits management, retirement plans, insurance, and other services related to payroll.
    • Bank Payment Interface: Facilitates direct deposit payments by integrating with banking systems to disburse payroll to employees’ accounts.
  • Self-Service and Reporting:

    • Employee Self-Service: Allows employees to view and manage their payroll information, including pay stubs, tax information, and benefits via a self-service portal.
    • Manager Self-Service: Provides managers with the tools to review and approve payroll, including managing timecards, overtime, and leave requests, before final payroll processing.
    • Reporting and Analytics: Oracle HCM Payroll provides customizable reporting tools to generate detailed payroll reports, tax reports, audit logs, and compliance reports. It also supports business intelligence (BI) tools for deeper analytics and insights into payroll costs and trends.
  • Payroll Security and Audit:

    • Data Security: Ensures that payroll data is securely handled and stored, with role-based access controls to restrict who can access sensitive payroll information.
    • Audit Trails: Tracks all payroll-related activities to ensure transparency and compliance, with detailed logs for auditing purposes.
    • Compliance Audits: Supports internal and external audit processes by providing clear records of payroll processing, tax calculations, and regulatory compliance.
  • Global Payroll Capabilities:

    • Multi-Currency and Multi-Language: Supports global payroll processing by handling multiple currencies and languages, making it suitable for multinational organizations.
    • Global Reporting: Generates global payroll reports that aggregate data across different regions and countries for corporate governance and compliance purposes.
    • International Payroll and Localization: Configures payroll for different countries, ensuring that local legal and tax requirements are met. It includes country-specific functionality and configurations to manage labor laws, social security, and other local requirements.
  • Flexibility and Customization:

    • Customizable Payroll Elements: Businesses can configure and customize payroll elements such as earnings, deductions, benefits, and taxes based on their specific needs.
    • Scalable Solutions: Suitable for organizations of all sizes, from small businesses to large, global enterprises. It can handle complex payroll structures and large volumes of payroll transactions.

Desired candidate profile

  • Proven experience with Oracle HCM Payroll module (minimum 5 years).
  • Expertise in the complete payroll lifecycle, from setup to processing and reporting.
  • Proficiency in creating and managing payroll definitions, costing, and data validation.
  • Experience with payroll reporting (e.g., payslips, year-end processing).
  • Ability to analyze and resolve payroll discrepancies or issues.
  • Experience with Fast Formulas
  • Experience in payroll testing (e.g., payroll runs, validations, error resolutions).
  • Ability to communicate complex payroll processes and requirements to both technical teams and business stakeholders.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Experience in gathering and translating business requirements into functional specifications.
  • Strong documentation and reporting skills.
  • Experience with Oracle HCM Payroll implementation, upgrade, or support projects.
  • Knowledge of payroll legislation in UAE or GCC
  • Flexible and adaptable to changing requirements and environments.
