Job Description

Roles and responsibilities

Project Planning and Management

Develop detailed project plans, including timelines, budgets, resource allocation, and milestones.

Oversee the end-to-end delivery of fit-out projects, ensuring alignment with client requirements and design specifications.

Team Leadership and Coordination

Lead multidisciplinary teams, including designers, contractors, and subcontractors, to ensure efficient project execution.

Assign responsibilities, monitor team performance, and provide guidance to achieve project goals.

Stakeholder Communication

Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, architects, consultants, and other stakeholders.

Maintain clear and open communication to manage expectations and address concerns promptly.

Quality Assurance

Ensure all fit-out work meets the highest quality standards and adheres to the agreed design and specifications.

Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress and address any deviations.

Budget and Cost Control

Manage project budgets, ensuring cost-efficiency without compromising on quality.

Identify and mitigate potential cost overruns through proactive planning and monitoring.

Health and Safety Compliance

Ensure that all fit-out activities comply with health, safety, and environmental regulations.

Promote a safe working environment by enforcing safety protocols and conducting regular audits.

Problem-Solving and Risk Management

Anticipate and address potential challenges or delays in project execution.

Develop contingency plans to minimize risks and maintain project continuity.

Procurement and Vendor Management

Oversee the procurement of materials, equipment, and services required for fit-out projects.

Evaluate and manage vendor and contractor performance to ensure timely and quality deliveries.

Reporting and Documentation

Prepare regular progress reports, including updates on timelines, budgets, and quality metrics.

Maintain accurate project documentation for future reference and compliance purposes.

Continuous Improvement

Evaluate completed projects to identify areas for improvement in processes and strategies.

Implement best practices to enhance efficiency, quality, and client satisfaction in future projects.

Oversee all aspects of fit-out projects, including initial design reviews, approvals, and construction phases.

Team Leadership and Supervision

Lead and manage multidisciplinary teams, including contractors, subcontractors, and consultants.

Assign tasks, monitor progress, and ensure accountability among team members.

Stakeholder Management

Act as the primary liaison between clients, designers, architects, and contractors to ensure alignment with project objectives.

Address client concerns, provide updates, and maintain strong relationships throughout the project lifecycle.

Quality Control and Assurance

Ensure all fit-out works are executed to the highest standards and comply with project specifications.

Conduct regular site inspections to verify progress and resolve quality issues.

Stay updated with industry trends and innovations to enhance project efficiency and outcomes.

Qualification:

Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, or related field, RICS certified Chartered Surveyor

Experience: Minimum 15 years of experience in fit-out management for commercial properties, including high-end office and retail spaces.

Experience and skills:

  • Experience: Minimum of 8-10 years of progressive experience in managing interior fit-out projects, including residential, commercial, and industrial sectors. Proven track record of delivering high-quality fit-out projects within established timelines and budgets.
  • Skills: Project Management: Strong organizational and project planning skills to manage all phases of fit-out projects from inception to completion.
  • Proficiency in project management tools and methodologies, such as MS Project, Primavera, or similar software.
  • Technical Expertise: In-depth knowledge of construction, design, and fit-out processes, including materials, methods, and quality standards.
  • Familiarity with building codes, safety regulations, and industry best practices.
  • Leadership and Team Management: Ability to lead and motivate diverse teams, including contractors, subcontractors, and consultants.
  • Skilled in delegating tasks, monitoring performance, and fostering a collaborative work environment.
  • Client Relationship Management: Exceptional interpersonal skills to build and maintain strong relationships with clients.
  • Ability to understand client needs, communicate effectively, and manage expectations.
  • Communication and Negotiation: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for coordinating with stakeholders, preparing reports, and resolving conflicts.
  • Strong negotiation skills to secure favorable terms with contractors, suppliers, and vendors.
  • Problem-Solving and Decision-Making: Analytical and critical-thinking skills to identify potential challenges and implement effective solutions.
  • Ability to make informed decisions under pressure to keep projects on track.
  • Budget and Cost Management: Expertise in preparing and managing project budgets, cost forecasting, and financial reporting.
  • Ability to identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality.
  • Quality Assurance: Attention to detail to ensure all work meets high-quality standards and complies with design specifications.
  • Experience conducting site inspections and addressing quality-related issues.
