This role ensures that mechanical solutions are innovative, efficient, and aligned with client requirements, industry standards, and sustainability objectives.
Roles, Responsibilities, Duties
Leadership and Team Management
Supervising Teams: Lead mechanical engineers and technical teams involved in the project.
Resource Allocation: Allocate resources effectively to ensure the timely completion of tasks.
Mentorship: Provide guidance and mentorship to junior engineers.
System Design:
Develop, review, and validate mechanical system designs such as HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems.
Code Compliance: Ensure designs meet local codes, international standards, and client requirements.
Troubleshooting: Address and resolve technical issues during design, installation, and operational phases.
Project Management
Planning: Define project scope, timelines, and deliverables for mechanical components.
Coordination: Work closely with architects, structural engineers, electrical engineers, and other stakeholders.
Monitoring: Track project progress and make adjustments as needed to meet deadlines.
Client Engagement
Requirement Analysis: Engage with clients to understand their needs and translate them into technical solutions.
Presentations: Provide technical presentations, reports, and updates to clients.
Consultation: Offer advice and recommendations on mechanical system improvements.
Quality Control and Assurance
Review Designs: Verify the accuracy and functionality of mechanical designs.
Testing and Inspection: Supervise the testing, commissioning, and inspection of mechanical systems.
Documentation: Maintain comprehensive records of design iterations, testing results, and approvals.
Budget and Cost Management
Cost Estimation: Prepare and manage budgets for mechanical systems.
Value Engineering: Identify cost-saving measures while maintaining quality standards.
Innovation and Continuous Improvement
Research and Development: Stay updated with advancements in mechanical systems and technologies.
Risk Management
Problem Identification: Anticipate potential risks and implement mitigation strategies.
Compliance: Ensure adherence to health and safety regulations.
Communication and Reporting
Stakeholder Interaction: Act as a liaison between technical teams and non-technical stakeholders.
Reporting: Prepare detailed reports for project status, risks, and milestones.
Project Oversight
Plan and manage mechanical aspects of projects, ensuring milestones are met.
Define project scopes, objectives, and deliverables related to mechanical systems.
Monitor project progress and make adjustments to schedules or plans as needed.
Mechanical System Design
Develop and review designs for mechanical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, and other building systems.
Approve and validate technical drawings, schematics, and specifications.
Ensure designs meet functional requirements, safety standards, and client expectations.
Team Supervision
Lead and supervise a team of mechanical engineers and technicians.
Delegate tasks and provide technical guidance to team members.
Evaluate team performance and identify training or development needs.
Quality Assurance
Conduct regular quality checks and reviews of designs and installations.
Client Communication
Serve as the primary technical point of contact for clients regarding mechanical systems.
Understand client requirements and provide tailored mechanical solutions.
Present proposals, progress reports, and final documentation to clients.
Risk and Compliance Management
Identify potential risks in mechanical designs or implementations.
Budget and Resource Management
Prepare cost estimates and allocate budgets for mechanical components.
Coordination with Stakeholders
Collaborate with architects, structural engineers, and electrical engineers to integrate mechanical systems seamlessly into projects.
Technical Consultation
Provide expert advice and recommendations on mechanical systems to internal and external stakeholders.

Qualification:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
Experience and skills:
Experience:
15 years of consultancy experience in HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems.
