Roles and responsibilities

As Workday Technical Consultant you can make a difference by developing and maintaining the technical aspects of Workday. You will be part of the IT team focused on HR support for the entire Boskalis group. With your team you will work closely with HR and together with another technical colleague, manage the technical side of the Workday application and connecting systems. You will act as the intermediary between IT and HR. You will support the organization and the business by using analysis, knowledge, and creativity to transform HR-related challenges into actionable insights.

Your Responsibilities As Workday Technical Consultant Is

• Provide expert technical support for Workday, Workday Studio and Workday Extend.
• Manage and coordinate data integration with systems like Master data management, Payroll and ERP.
• Advice HR and IT colleagues on technical feasibility within the application.
• Participate in day-to-day technical support and further development of Workday and its roadmap.
• Lead various projects related to implementing Workday and payroll systems for multiple Boskalis entities worldwide and optimizing/building integrations.
• Contribute to building a professional team.
  

Your Qualities

You can make your mark as workday technical consultant if you have:

• At least 5 years in positions such as Technical Application Consultant with experience in Workday and Workday studio.
• Proficient in integration to other systems and knowledgeable in SQL and query languages.
• A completed bachelor's or master's degree, preferably in IT, econometrics, statistics, mathematics or technical field.
• Thorough knowledge of Workday HCM, Onboarding, Time Tracking, Absence, and Performance Management from a technical perspective.
• Strong analytical skills, pragmatic, results-driven, structured approach, and well-developed data skills.
• Self-starter comfortable in a dynamic, complex, international environment, with a willingness to travel internationally (frequent travel to the Netherlands in the first year).

1. Core Responsibilities

• Workday Implementation and Configuration:

  • Analyze business requirements and translate them into Workday solutions.
  • Configure Workday modules such as HCM, Finance, Payroll, Recruiting, or Time Tracking.
  • Implement Workday security settings to ensure data privacy and compliance.

• Integration Development:

  • Design, build, and support integrations between Workday and third-party systems using Workday tools such as Workday Studio, EIB (Enterprise Interface Builder), PICOF (Payroll Integration Common Output File), and Workday Web Services (WWS).
  • Test and troubleshoot integrations to ensure seamless data flow.

• System Maintenance:

  • Provide ongoing technical support for Workday applications, ensuring smooth system performance.
  • Manage Workday updates and releases, testing new features and ensuring compatibility with existing configurations.

• Data Management:

  • Perform data migration and transformation using tools like EIB or custom solutions.
  • Develop and execute data validation and reconciliation processes to ensure data integrity.

• Reporting and Analytics:

  • Create custom reports using Workday Report Writer and Workday Prism Analytics.
  • Develop dashboards and analytics to help stakeholders make data-driven decisions.

• Collaboration:

  • Work with cross-functional teams (HR, Finance, IT) to gather requirements and ensure the successful delivery of Workday solutions.
  • Train end-users and provide documentation for Workday functionality and processes.
