Job Summary
The Director of Sales and Marketing is responsible for developing and implementing a commercial strategy that delivers net revenue results for the property. This includes overseeing the execution of the commercial focus process, which drives business growth across key areas such as Revenue Management, Sales, Marketing, and Public Relations.
In this role, the individual will lead a dynamic team, managing both sales and marketing operations. The Director will ensure alignment between sales and marketing strategies to meet revenue goals and expand the customer base. This requires a strategic thinker with strong leadership, communication, and analytical skills to spearhead innovative campaigns and optimize the sales pipeline.
Scope
Oversees and has direct accountability for delivering all hotels revenues and more specifically-
- Rooms
- Conference and Banqueting
- Food and Beverage
- Other revenues
- Own commercial planning calendar
- Direct and oversee all C&E sales and conversion activity
- Own the creation and execution of the Revenue Proposal for the property or cluster
- Manage hotel sales strategy activities
- Manage hotel level marketing activities [Online and Offline]
- Manage hotel level Public Relations activities
Key Responsibilities
- Develop detailed and real time knowledge of all competitor and market activity to maintain own position of market leadership.
- Optimally manage to the benefit of the hotel I cluster, relationships with all stakeholders, owners, hotel teams.
- Prepare professional accurate and timely reports that show progress through clear and concise metrics and management information.
- Ensure all systems are updated with real time accurate data.
- Own sales accountability for all hotel accounts.
- Design, gain agreement and execute the hotel’s marketing plan under the guidance of regional marketing team (includes business objectives, strategies, budget, targets in alignment with regional and global approach).
- Implement and leverage all agreed Rotana Regional marketing and sales promotions for all business segments (e.g. leisure and meetings).
- Manage and review the effectiveness of all F&B promotions according to brand guidelines.
- Support the brand proposition and execution through monitoring, managing all on-property. collateral, internal or external images, 3rd party collateral, events etc under the guidance of BPS.
- Drive Rotana Rewards customer acquisition through execution of global Rotana Rewards campaigns and development of relevant on-property initiatives.
- Identify local partnerships to support and maximize the hotel revenue in conjunction and with authorization of regional marketing.
- Work with the E-Commerce teams to ensure online hotel content is accurate and visible through other distribution channels.
- Work with the PR team (both Corporate communications and Brand PR) to maximize positive visibility and positioning of hotel.
- Consistently conforms to Rotana brand standards and corporate identity guideline and utilizes all marketing and communication tools (under the guidance of regional marketing and BPS).
- Measure and report on performance of campaigns for the hotel.
- Lead, engage and develop team, and maintain a live succession plan.
- Participate in the leadership activity of the hotel including duty management as required.
Skills
Education, Qualifications & Experiences
You should be holding a bachelor degree in sales and be computer literate with effective and outstanding communication skills, both verbal and written.
Knowledge & Competencies
The ideal candidate will be dynamic and a ‘finisher’ with an eye for detail and the ability to drive through solutions. You are having a strong commercial orientation with broad business understanding and skills, equipped with a sharp intellect in order to focus on key issues with an attention to details and accuracy of information while possessing following additional competencies-

- Regularly monitor performance metrics such as occupancy rates, average daily rates (ADR), and revenue per available room (RevPAR).

- Oversee digital marketing efforts, including SEO, content marketing, social media, email campaigns, and online advertising.
- Ensure the website, social media profiles, and other digital platforms are up-to-date, user-friendly, and aligned with the property’s branding.
- Monitor and report on the success of digital campaigns, adjusting strategies to improve engagement and conversions.

- Act as the property’s spokesperson in media engagements, interviews, and public events.
- Manage public relations strategies to increase media exposure and enhance the brand’s image.
- Handle crisis communication effectively, ensuring the organization’s reputation is protected during challenging situations.
