Roles and responsibilities
- Reviews customer’s prescriptions to assure accuracy, to ascertain the needed drugs, and to evaluate their suitability
- Provides the customer with information and advice regarding drug interactions, side effects, dosage, and proper medication storage
- Compounds and dispenses medications as prescribed by physicians and other health practitioners
- Ensures understanding the customer’s needs by conducting necessary questioning and providing assistance when necessary
- Achieves sales targets by using sales techniques, up-selling and cross selling of all Super Care categories
- Orders and purchases pharmaceutical supplies, medical supplies, or drugs, maintaining stock storing and handling
- Complies with local rules and regulations in regard to pharmacy activities, including but not limited to preparation, labeling and delivery of medication and other pharmaceutical supplies
- Maintains and reports the pharmacy’s records as required by the external authorities (i.e. Dubai Health Authority, Ministry of Health, etc.
- Liaises with insurance companies to process insurance on time and resolve billing issues
- Handles daily operational tasks such as inventory management, expiry management, merchandising, etc.
- Is Flexible to work in different shifts & location as assigned by the Line Manager in order to fulfill business requirements.
Job requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy
- License from: DHA or willing to convert MOH/DOH to DHA.
- Minimum of 1 year experience as a registered pharmacist.
- Strong Communication skills in English, Arabic/Tagalog.

- Pharmacokinetics: Knowledge of how drugs are absorbed, distributed, metabolized, and eliminated from the body.
- Pharmacodynamics: Understanding how drugs affect the body at the cellular, tissue, and organ levels.
- Drug Interactions: Recognizing and advising on potential drug interactions that may affect a patient’s treatment plan.
2. Clinical and Patient Care Skills
- Patient Counseling: Providing patients with information about their prescriptions, including dosages, potential side effects, and how to manage their treatment.
- Medication Management: Ensuring that patients follow their prescribed medication regimens and adjusting as necessary to optimize health outcomes.
- Chronic Disease Management: Working with patients to manage chronic conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, or asthma, and providing advice on medication adherence.
- Health Screenings: Performing basic health screenings, such as blood pressure checks or blood glucose monitoring, and providing relevant advice.
3. Pharmacy Operations
- Dispensing Medications: Accurately preparing and dispensing prescription medications, ensuring correct dosages and proper packaging.
- Inventory Management: Managing drug inventories, ensuring that medications are stocked, stored correctly, and rotated to prevent expiry.
- Prescription Verification: Verifying that prescriptions are accurate and safe, and communicating with prescribing healthcare providers if any issues arise.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensuring compliance with local laws, regulations, and ethical guidelines related to drug dispensing and pharmacy practice.
4. Attention to Detail
- Accuracy in Dispensing: Ensuring that medications are dispensed accurately according to the prescriptions, avoiding errors such as incorrect dosages or drugs.
- Monitoring for Drug Interactions: Carefully checking for potential adverse drug interactions, contraindications, or allergies that could harm the patient.
- Labeling and Documentation: Properly labeling medications with clear instructions and maintaining accurate patient records for future reference.
5. Communication and Interpersonal Skills
- Patient Communication: Effectively communicating with patients to explain their treatment regimens, answer their questions, and provide reassurance regarding their health.
- Collaboration with Healthcare Teams: Working closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to provide integrated care and optimize patient outcomes.
- Empathy: Demonstrating empathy and compassion when dealing with patients, especially those with chronic conditions or complex medication regimens.

- Troubleshooting Issues: Identifying and resolving issues related to prescriptions, such as unclear instructions, drug interactions, or adverse reactions.
- Clinical Judgment: Applying clinical knowledge to make decisions about drug therapy and ensuring that patients receive the most appropriate treatment.
- Risk Management: Identifying potential risks related to drug treatments and finding solutions to minimize those risks for patients.
