Due to a strong pipeline of projects, our Abu Dhabi team is rapidly growing, and we are seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Engineer to undertake a variety of projects across the region.
In this role you will work as part of an integrated multi-disciplinary team across a variety of infrastructure, buildings, transport and other project types. This role will see you involved in
- Undertaking and managing the design and documentation of Building Services including: electrical power reticulation and distribution systems, lighting design, standby power generation, communications cabling, lightning protection, fire detection, audio visual and security for various new or revamp related projects.
- Preparation and coordination of fee proposals, technical report writing, cost reporting and client liaison at project level.
- Preparation of authority submissions and construction phase services.
- Leading, mentoring, training and coaching other team members
What You Will Bring To The Team
- 10+ years’ experience in the design of electrical installations and the ability to lead and manage electrical an d/or multi-disciplinary teams undertaking commercial, industrial, education, health , transport, infrastructure, power and controls projects.
- A relevant tertiary qualification together with RPEQ status or potential to attain RPEQ status.
- An advanced understanding of Electrical codes.
- Understanding of local council/authority, utility and QFES requirements.
- Flexibility to travel for short term project assignments.
- An understanding of renewable energy resources.
- Proficiency with industry standard software (MS Office, Autocad, PowerCAD, AGI32/Dialux, Bluebeam/Adobe Acrobat).
- Ability/desire to carry out coordinated design in the Revit environment using Elumtools and CANECO software packages.

- Load Flow Analysis: Proficiency in analyzing power system behavior, including load flow, short circuit, and stability analysis.
- Electrical Testing and Troubleshooting: Ability to perform complex testing and diagnostics on electrical equipment, systems, and components to identify faults and ensure reliability.
- Control Systems: Knowledge of designing, implementing, and maintaining control systems used in automation and electrical equipment management.
2. Project Management and Leadership
- Team Leadership: Leading and mentoring a team of engineers, junior staff, and technicians while coordinating with other departments such as mechanical, civil, and software engineering.
- Project Planning and Execution: Overseeing electrical projects from concept to completion, including designing schedules, allocating resources, and managing budgets.
- Risk Management: Identifying potential risks related to electrical systems and developing solutions to mitigate them.
- Client Interaction: Communicating effectively with clients, understanding their needs, and ensuring that project specifications and standards are met.
3. Design and Software Proficiency
- CAD Software: Expertise in using Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software such as AutoCAD, Revit, or SolidWorks to create electrical system designs.
- Simulation Software: Experience with simulation software like MATLAB, PSCAD, or ETAP for modeling electrical systems and analyzing performance.
- Electrical Codes and Standards: Familiarity with national and international electrical codes (e.g., NEC, IEC) and industry standards to ensure compliance in designs and installations.
- Building Information Modeling (BIM): Proficiency in using BIM for designing and managing electrical systems within larger building projects.
4. Problem-Solving and Analytical Skills
- Troubleshooting: Ability to analyze and resolve complex electrical issues efficiently and effectively.
- Optimization: Identifying opportunities for improving the efficiency, performance, and safety of electrical systems.
- Root Cause Analysis: Using analytical methods to determine the root cause of electrical failures or system inefficiencies and applying corrective actions.
5. Communication and Collaboration
- Documentation and Reporting: Creating clear technical documentation, reports, and specifications, including test results, safety protocols, and project updates.
- Cross-Disciplinary Collaboration: Working effectively with other engineering disciplines (e.g., mechanical, civil, structural) to ensure the integration of electrical systems with other components of the project.
