The Head of HSE in the pipe and coating industry is responsible for developing
implementing and overseeing health safety and environmental programs to ensure
a safe and compliant working environment. This role involves managing risks
ensuring regulatory compliance and fostering a culture of safety among employees.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Develop and Implement HSE Programs:
o Create and enforce HSE policies and procedures specific to the pipe and
coating industry.
o Ensure all HSE programs comply with local state and federal regulations.
2. Conduct Risk Assessments:
o Regularly inspect the workplace to identify potential hazards.
o Evaluate risks and implement control measures to mitigate them.
3. Ensure Regulatory Compliance:
o Ensure compliance with the Group/Company HSE standards
o Stay updated with health safety and environmental regulations relevant to
the pipe and coating industry.
o Ensure the organization meets or exceeds these standards.
4. Training and Education:
o Develop and deliver training programs on safety procedures emergency
preparedness and the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
o Ensure all employees are aware of and understand HSE protocols.
5. Incident Investigation:
o Investigate workplace accidents and incidents to determine causes.
o Implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
6. HSE Audits:
o Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance with HSE standards.
o Identify areas for improvement and implement necessary changes.
7. Emergency Response Planning:
o Develop and maintain emergency response plans.
o Ensure preparedness for potential emergencies.
8. Collaboration and Communication:
o Work closely with various departments to establish and enforce HSE
protocols.
o Provide guidance and recommendations to toplevel management on HSE
related matters.
9. Monitor and Evaluate HSE Programs:
o Continuously monitor the effectiveness of HSE programs.
o Analyze incident reports and implement necessary improvements.
10. Team Management:
o Lead and manage the HSE team.
o Foster a culture of safety and ensure adherence to HSE protocols.

Educational Requirements:

Experience:
1. Industry Experience: 15 years of experience in health safety and environmental
roles preferably within the steel fabrication or pipe & coating or related industries.
2. Leadership Experience: Proven experience in managing and leading HSE teams.
3. Regulatory Knowledge: Indepth understanding of HSE regulations relevant to the industry.
