Job Description
PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
The purpose of the job of a Utility and Road Works Engineer is to ensure the successful design coordination and execution of road infrastructure and utility systems within a construction or development project. The role bridges technical expertise and project management to meet safety quality regulatory and client expectations.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Review and validate engineering designs and drawings for road and utility systems.
- Ensure designs are compliant with UAE regulations codes and project specifications.
- Assist in planning construction phases to align with project schedules.
- Oversee and monitor onsite activities related to road construction and utility installations (e.g. drainage sewerage water supply electrical and telecom systems).
- Conduct site inspections to ensure work is executed according to approved designs and standards.
- Provide technical guidance to construction teams to resolve issues during execution.
- Ensure all construction materials and methodologies meet quality standards.
- Ensure strict adherence to health safety and environmental guidelines.
- Coordinate with local authorities for required permits and approvals.
- Liaise with project managers consultants contractors and utility providers for seamless project execution.
- Communicate progress challenges and resolutions effectively to stakeholders.
- Maintain accurate records of site inspections approvals and daily activities.
- Prepare progress reports and asbuilt documentation for submission to clients or authorities.
- Identify potential risks and implement strategies to mitigate delays or cost overruns.
- Resolve technical issues and adapt plans to address unforeseen challenges.
KEY QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
- Advanced degrees such as a Masters in Civil or Transportation Engineering may be preferred for senior roles.
- At least 5 years of relevant experience in utility and roadworks projects.
- Experience in road construction utility installations and urban infrastructure projects is highly valued.
- Must have UAE work experience.
- Can join immediately.
