Roles and responsibilities
The Pool Butler is responsible to serve the needs of the business, our guests and our colleagues by maintaining the effectiveness of the day-to-day pool operations, enhancing guest experience by being a key point of contact for guest interaction in the resort.
Responsibilities
- Ensure smooth running of the pool service on a day to day basis to achieve the highest possible levels of guest satisfaction.
- Support company’s philosophy and company culture through the use of Departmental Legendary Quality Experiences on a daily basis to ensure Guest Satisfaction and the achievement of our Mission Statement.
- Has complete knowledge of the products and services offered by the resort.
- Ensure that the poolside cleanliness, ambience and service are as per standards.
- To ensure that a high standard of service is maintained throughout pool area
- To maintain inventory of supplies for the operations of the section.
- To attend daily line-ups, weekly and monthly meetings.
- Ensure that all activities are performed in a safe environment using proper safety techniques.
- Works closely to promote our offering to ensure that we maximize guest satisfaction and Hotel revenue.
- Maintain a strong working environment with the other departments.
- Ensure proper accounting procedures are followed when collecting of charging fees
- Keep yourself updated with all guest bookings for recreational activities.
- Ensures that guest history records are updated at all times in coordination with the Recreational Management team.
- Takes ownership of guest’s requests and needs and ensures immediate action as appropriate.
- Advises management of all guest feedback and unusual matters.
- Attends training sessions as required.
- Responsible for the upkeep and the cleanliness of the swimming pool and all areas of the department as per the standard operating procedures.
- Ensure that liability waiver form is signed by guests going on experiences.
- Ensure adequate par stock is maintained in recreation department and requisitions where necessary.
Desired candidate profile
- Minimum 1 year experience within a Recreation/Leisure, or Fitness & Wellness environment.
- Minimum 1 years’ experience working within a 5-star hotel is preferred.
- Valid Lifeguard/First Aid and Pool Responder Qualifications are preferred.
- Good verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Verbal and written communication skills in Arabic or other languages are preferred.
- Ability to service guest/member needs effectively in an outdoor environment.
- Knowledge on pool safety standards and able to extend this knowledge via training.
- Understanding of food and beverage hygiene standards.
- Basic money handling skills, including using POS systems.
- Ability to anticipate guest needs and to deliver superior customer service.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with guests and colleagues
- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
- Physical capabilities to stand for a long period; Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as per business needs.
