Roles and responsibilities
The Bar Back will give a hand and support to the Bartender/s to ensure bar operation is running smoothly and efficiently. This position mainly involves manual handling therefore FLHSS is substantially covered.
Responsibilities
- It is part of your role to understand and comply with all corporate and hotel policies and standard operating procedures.
- MOHG Code of Conduct requires that all business activities and business decisions comply with the general law, with all rules, regulations, and other requirements.
- Assist Bartenders by preparing and stocking the bar with supplies, including glassware, garnishes, and beverages.
- Manage inventory levels and assist with ordering and restocking items as needed
- Organizing and shelving beverages before opening of the bar.
- Ensure that the bar area is clean, organized, and well-maintained throughout shifts
- Support Bartenders with the preparation of drinks, including mixing, garnishing, and serving as directed
- Monitor and maintain the cleanliness and functionality of bar equipment.
- Wiping glassware, utensils and equipment needed for the operation.
- Handle guest requests promptly and courteously, providing a high level of service.
- Assist with special events and promotions as needed.
- Act as a hotel “ambassador” at all times.
- To carry out any additional duties requested by management, related to hotel operational activities.
Desired candidate profile
- High School qualification or equivalent.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience working in a 5-star luxury hotel environment.
- Ability to understand guest needs and to deliver superior customer service.
- Knowledge in bar operation is a must.
- Very good verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Verbal and written communication skills in Arabic or other languages are preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with guests and colleagues
- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
- Physical capabilities to stand for a long period; Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as per business needs.
