Job Description

Roles and responsibilities

As an Assistant Project Manager, you will join the rail practice that covers all aspects of project life cycle from concept to construction. Day-to-day you will be immersed with a team that is diverse and committed to delivering services and solutions to our rail clients. You will be in a position to assist with rail assignments, and engaging with engineers, architects, environmental consultants, client and wider stakeholders to ensure project delivery and commercial success. In this role you will assist Rail Project Managers with project planning, implementation, and completion of assigned projects.

You will be empowered to assist with long-range and short-term rail planning and design projects. You will be responsible for conducting studies, planning research alongside preparing reports and recommendations. You will have autonomy over developing projects plan and schedules using MS Project or Primavera setting milestones and timelines with the expected deliverables.

  • U.A.E National that holds an accredited Bachelor’s degree from a recognized institution.
  • Demonstrated experience in assessing project risks and understanding the associated contingencies.
  • You are creative, self-motivated, and work well in dynamic, yet changing environment.
  • An Assistant Project Manager plays a vital role in supporting project managers in planning, executing, and closing projects. Here are key skills and qualities essential for this position:

  • Organization: Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks, timelines, and project details efficiently.

  • Communication: Effective verbal and written communication skills to liaise with team members, stakeholders, and clients.

  • Time Management: Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

  • Problem-Solving: Strong analytical skills to identify issues and propose practical solutions.

  • Attention to Detail: Meticulousness in reviewing project documentation and ensuring accuracy.

  • Technical Skills: Familiarity with project management software (e.g., Microsoft Project, Trello, Asana) and tools.

  • Budget Management: Understanding of budgeting principles to help track project expenses and financial performance.

  • Team Collaboration: Ability to work effectively within a team and support cross-functional collaboration.

  • Adaptability: Flexibility to adjust plans and strategies in response to changing project needs.

  • Basic Knowledge of Project Management Methodologies: Familiarity with Agile, Waterfall, or other project management frameworks.
