Job Description

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated French Teacher to join our dynamic Key Stage 2 team.

Responsibilities:

    • Plan prepare and deliver engaging and effective French lessons aligned with the French National Curriculum and the schools curriculum.
    • Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of all learners including gifted and talented students and those with special educational needs.
    • Use a variety of teaching strategies such as inquirybased learning projectbased learning and technology integration to foster a love of the French language and culture.
    • Create a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages student participation creativity and critical thinking.
    • Assess student progress regularly using a variety of formative and summative assessments and provide constructive feedback to students.
    • Prepare and administer formal assessments including tests and exams.
    • Contribute to the development and implementation of the French curriculum ensuring alignment with the schools educational philosophy and best practices.
    • Stay uptodate with the latest trends and research in French language teaching and learning.
    • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure a consistent and highquality French program across all key stages.
    • Actively participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and knowledge.
    • Share expertise and knowledge with colleagues through mentoring coaching and collaborative planning.
    • Embrace innovative teaching methods and technologies to enhance student learning.
    • Communicate effectively with parents about student progress and expectations.
    • Build strong relationships with parents to foster a supportive learning environment.
    • Organize parentteacher conferences and workshops to share information about the French program.

Skills:

  • Lesson Planning and Delivery: Ability to create engaging and effective lesson plans and deliver lessons in a clear and concise manner.
  • Differentiated Instruction: Tailoring instruction to meet the diverse needs of learners including gifted and talented students and those with special educational needs.
  • Assessment: Designing and administering formative and summative assessments to monitor student progress and provide feedback.
  • Classroom Management: Creating a positive and disciplined learning environment that fosters student engagement and motivation.
  • ICT Proficiency: Utilizing technology effectively to enhance teaching and learning.
  • Native or NearNative Fluency: Strong oral and written proficiency in French.
  • Cultural Knowledge: Understanding of French culture history and current events.
  • Linguistic Awareness: Ability to analyze and explain the structure and grammar of the French language.


Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Native or nearnative fluency in French.
  • Strong knowledge of the French National Curriculum.
  • Experience teaching French to Key Stage 2 students.
  • Excellent classroom management skills and the ability to create a positive and engaging learning environment.
