Civil Engineer

Roles and responsibilities

• Provide technical support within the discipline team, liaise with the project team, and consult with relevant resources as required.
• Communicate effectively with the discipline team and project stakeholders.
• Establish and maintain good working relationships within WorleyParsons, with its clients and other stakeholders.
• Identify issues and problems, develop appropriate solutions, and ask for assistance if required.
• Comply and keep up-to-date with the behaviour and business practices outlined in WorleyParsons Vision, codes, policies, procedures and standards, and with all applicable laws, regulations and standards.
• Deliver quality services and demonstrate a commitment to understand and meet customer needs.
• Demonstrate a visible and active commitment to achieving the Vision and its associated requirements.
• Act in the best interests of WorleyParsons at all times.
• Perform any other duties that are reasonably required from time to time
• Complete PEC registration within first year on the graduate program.

• Competent at a graduate level in the technical and practical engineering skills in the relevant discipline.
• In the relevant discipline or field, the ability to learn the applicable local standards and statutory and regulatory requirements
• Critical information-seeking.
• Sound problem-solving competencies with the ability to apply these to different scenarios.
  

Industry Specific Experience

• Not required, although evidence of undergraduate industrial work experience would be advantageous.
  

Qualifications

Education – Qualifications, Accreditation, Training:

• A recognized engineering degree in the relevant discipline from an accredited university, or equivalent, recognized for PEC registration within UAE

Desired candidate profile

• Fundamental Engineering Knowledge: Basic understanding of civil engineering principles, practices, and theories, including structural, geotechnical, transportation, and environmental engineering.

• Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with engineering software (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or Revit) for drafting and modeling designs.

• Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze data and apply engineering principles to solve problems related to design and construction.

• Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills for collaborating with team members and preparing technical documentation.

• Project Support: Experience assisting in project management tasks, including planning, scheduling, and resource allocation.

• Field Knowledge: Basic understanding of construction methods, materials, and site investigation processes.

• Regulatory Awareness: Familiarity with local building codes, zoning laws, and environmental regulations.

• Teamwork: Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment, supporting senior engineers and project managers.

• Problem-Solving Abilities: Capacity to identify issues and develop practical solutions during the design and construction phases.

• Willingness to Learn: A proactive attitude towards learning and professional development, seeking mentorship and training opportunities to grow in the field.
