Job Description

Roles and responsibilities

  • Previous experience of 1-2 years in a Luxury Hotel environment in a similar role.
  • An elevated and energetic Conversationalist, engaging Guests with lively discussions and building a good rapport with them.
  • Next-Level Organisational and Leadership skills, effectively leading and inspiring the FIVE Tribe to New Heights
  • Exceptional Time Management and Multi-Tasking skills to deliver a ‘FIVE-Star’ Experience for our guests.
  • Proficient in Reservation Systems and Guest Management Software.
  • An appreciation for fine dining experiences and ease and familiarity with food and beverage menus.
  • Impeccable communication skills, both verbal and written, with fluency in English (Additional languages are a Plus).
  • Superior Problem-Solving Skills and the competence to Exceed Expectations in dynamic and competitive operational environments.
  • Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including weekends and holidays, based on the requirements of the Hotel.

Key Responsibilities

  • Greets Guests upon Arrival with a Warm ‘FIVE-Styled’ Welcome, ensuring their Journey at FIVE is sensational.
  • Exhibits an exceptional understanding of FIVE's diverse destinations, concepts, menus, events, and bespoke offerings, enabling ‘FIVE-Star’ Guest Assistance at all times.
  • Showcases a Proactive Approach to addressing Guests' concerns and fulfilling their requests, Swiftly Resolving any issues to ensure exceptional Guest Satisfaction.
  • Supervises Suitable Seating Arrangements to optimise Guest Flow, maintain Restaurant Capacity, and Minimise Wait Times, ensuring ‘FIVE-Star’ service.
  • Manages Restaurant Reservations efficiently, employing the hotel's Reservation System, and guaranteeing Precise and Up-To-Date Information.
  • Handles Substantial Group Reservations and Exceptional Events, seamlessly coordinating with the Events Team when necessary, in line with FIVE’s bespoke standards.
  • Discerningly places Guests at the most appropriate tables, ensuring that Table Settings are arranged in accordance with FIVE’s Luxurious Standards.
  • Supervises the Host/Hostess Team, offering crystal-clear Direction, expert Guidance, and unwavering Support, ensuring the delivery of an exquisite level of service.
  • Identifies VIP Guests and provides them with Personalised Attention and our Boundary-Breaking services.
  • Conducts regular Training Sessions to elevate the Team's knowledge of the Menu, Hotel Facilities, and FIVE’s outstanding Service Standards.
  • Fosters open lines of communication with the Restaurant Manager and other Department Heads to ensure Seamless Coordination between departments.
  • Engages in close collaboration with the Culinary Team and Waitstaff to manage Guest Expectations, accommodate Special Requests, and guarantee the Punctual Delivery of our delectable cuisine.
  • Plays a key role in crafting memorable experiences for Special Occasions and Celebrations, celebrating life's most extraordinary moments with ‘FIVE-Styled’ Flair.
  • Skillfully suggests Menu Items, Beverages, and Promotional Offers to enrich the guest experience and optimise revenue generation.

  1. Team Coordination: Overseeing the host staff and ensuring they provide excellent service.
  2. Training: Onboarding and training new host staff on procedures and customer service standards.

  1. Conflict Resolution: Addressing customer complaints or issues promptly and effectively.
  2. Adaptability: Adjusting seating arrangements and reservations based on changing circumstances.

Time Management

  1. Prioritization: Balancing multiple responsibilities, such as managing waitlists and coordinating with the kitchen and servers.
  2. Efficiency: Ensuring that guests are seated in a timely manner to minimize wait times.

Attention to Detail

  1. Maintaining Cleanliness: Ensuring the entrance and waiting areas are tidy and welcoming.
  2. Guest Preferences: Keeping track of regular customers’ preferences and special requests.

Knowledge of the Establishment

  1. Menu Familiarity: Understanding the menu and specials to assist guests with inquiries.
  2. Restaurant Layout: Knowing the layout of the restaurant to direct guests efficiently.

  1. Promoting Specials: Informing guests about daily specials or events to enhance their dining experience.
