PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
We are seeking an experienced and detailoriented PreContract Quantity Surveyor to join our team. The successful candidate will play a critical role in managing and delivering costeffective precontract services ensuring that projects are accurately costed tendered and prepared for . You will collaborate closely with the project teams clients and subcontractors to ensure that all precontract activities are executed to the highest standards.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for projects including materials labor and other associated costs.
- Develop and maintain cost plans to ensure that budgets are adhered to throughout the project lifecycle.
- Evaluate costeffectiveness of designs and construction methods during the precontract phase.
- Manage the tendering process including preparation of tender documents evaluation of bids and negotiation with suppliers and subcontractors.
- Review and analyze contractor and supplier bids to ensure they align with project requirements and budget constraints.
- Prepare and submit detailed tender reports and recommendations to the management team.
- Draft and review contract documents ensuring that all terms and conditions are clear and in compliance with legal and regulatory standards.
- Identify and mitigate potential risks associated with contracts and subcontracts.
- Liaise with legal advisors to ensure that contracts are robust and enforceable.
- Collaborate with clients architects engineers and project managers to ensure that all precontract activities align with project objectives.
- Provide expert advice on contractual matters to the project team and senior management.
- Foster strong relationships with key stakeholders to facilitate smooth project .
- Prepare regular reports on cost estimates tender outcomes and contract status for senior management.
- Maintain accurate and uptodate records of all precontract activities including correspondence contracts and financial documents.
- Ensure that all documentation is compliant with company policies and industry standards.
- Conduct market research to stay informed of industry trends pricing and emerging technologies.
- Benchmark project costs against industry standards to ensure competitiveness and value for money.
KEY QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelors degree in Quantity Surveying Construction Management or a related field.
- Professional membership with RICS CIOB or similar is preferred.
- Minimum of 57 years of experience in precontract quantity surveying preferably within the construction oil & gas or infrastructure sectors.
- Strong knowledge of construction contracts procurement processes and cost management.
- Proficiency in relevant software such as CostX WinQS or similar.
- Excellent negotiation communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- High attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
