SAFETY ENGINEER

Overview:

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement safety policies and procedures
• Conduct regular safety inspections and audits
• Identify potential hazards and assess risks in the workplace
• Investigate accidents and nearmisses and recommend corrective actions
• Provide safety training to employees and management
• Ensure compliance with local state and federal safety regulations
• Participate in emergency response planning and drills
• Assist in the design and implementation of safety systems and equipment
• Collaborate with crossfunctional teams to address safety concerns
• Develop and maintain safety documentation and records
• Evaluate the effectiveness of safety programs and initiatives
• Recommend and implement improvements to enhance workplace safety
• Stay updated on industry best practices and emerging safety technologies
• Communicate safety updates and requirements to all levels of the organization
• Participate in safety committees and meetings

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in Occupational Health and Safety Engineering or related field
• Certification in Occupational Health and Safety (e.g. OHST CHST CSP)
• Proven experience in industrial or construction safety
• Knowledge of OSHA EPA and other relevant safety regulations
• Strong understanding of risk assessment methodologies
• Excellent problemsolving skills
• Effective written and verbal communication skills
• Attention to detail and accuracy in safety assessments and reports
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Proficiency in safety management software and tools
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks effectively
• Familiarity with safety equipment and emergency response procedures
• Understanding of behavioral safety principles
• Commitment to promoting a culture of safety and continuous improvement
