Job Description
- Provides nursing care of women and their babies in a safe, effective, timely and acceptable manner.
- Expert knowledge of midwifery and normal birth agenda.
- Administers interventions, treatments, and medications in accordance with legislation, FUH policies, and professional standards of practice.
- Demonstrates a commitment to and understanding of continuity of care.
- Provides nursing care as directed by each woman and in accordance with the woman’s written Care Plan and woman’s needs.
- Proactively protects, promotes, and supports breastfeeding, in accordance with accreditation guidelines.
- Ensures the woman is provided with appropriate information to make informed decisions relating to care, and that care reflects client’s preferences.
- Demonstrates culturally safe practice and respects the woman’s ethnic, social, and religious background.
- Adapts education to meet the specific needs of the woman/family.
- Ensures documentation is current, accurate, timely and maintains confidentiality within a legal and ethical framework.
- Maintain high standards of Midwifery and Neonatal Nursing care within a safe environment.
