Electrical Technician

As an Electrical Technician, you will be responsible for the installation, repair, maintenance, and troubleshooting of machinery, equipment, and fixtures. Your role ensures efficient operation with minimal downtime while adhering to Environmental, Health, and Safety guidelines and focusing on continuous improvement.

Key Accountabilities:

• Respond to electrical equipment breakdowns including LV-MV motors, LV Switchboards, MCCs, Plant lightings, Transformers, UPS, VFD, Breakers, Soft starters, etc. Execute planned/preventive/predictive maintenance tasks with minimal supervision.
• Identify and report abnormalities, repair or replace necessary components, reassemble, test equipment, and maintain a clean working area.
• Assess job requirements, select necessary tools and equipment, and complete tasks efficiently.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical breakdowns/failures of plant equipment independently.
• Use the computerized maintenance system (SAP) to order spare parts and maintain accurate maintenance records.
• Ensure all maintenance work aligns with safety procedures and plant operational needs.
• Monitor recurring breakdowns and recommend modifications to resolve issues.
• Provide knowledge and support to newly joined electricians, craft trainees, and contractors.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives such as 5S, Business Excellence, and Safety Initiatives.
• Perform additional tasks as assigned by Supervisor/Superior.
• Assist other departments in equipment repair and troubleshooting.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Diploma in a relevant field.
• Completion of PEC Craft Training.

Minimum Experience:

• 3 years of relevant experience in a heavy industry after Diploma.
• No experience required after completion of PEC Training.

Skills:

• Proficient in written and spoken English.
• Familiarity with maintenance tools and IT knowledge.
• Experience in installation and troubleshooting.
• Ability to read and understand engineering drawings, manuals, and instructions.
