Software Automation Test Developer

Job Description

The automation, the testers typically write test cases, verbally like writing the steps and the description of the test, the conditions, the steps, the outcome, etc… The automation developer then looks at that in TestRail and would then have to run the test manually and make sure that it's run. They'll need to figure out what is the test case and how to run it.

The Automation developer then looks at it, figures out what they can use that's already built, and how they will structure this to build out for their automation scripts and tests to run. This team has nodes that execute and run. Sandbox that runs and executes the scripts, they are stable and run them daily. If there are issues with their scripts, they'll raise JIRA tickets against them. More automation in place is what's needed at this time.

Position Summary

The successful candidate will be part of the Test Automation & Tools Development team involved in the delivery of software solutions that facilitate automated testing of the latest automotive infotainment and connectivity technologies. You will develop and maintain automated test scripts, test framework, and test tools.

Location: Ottawa

Responsibilities

• Interface with development and test teams to understand testing requirements, and implement required test tools and tests scripts
• Python, Pytest, Jenkin, CICD, Github
• Develop and maintain software tools and features to assist in automated testing
• Develop and maintain test libraries that interface with test management system and defect tracking system
• Contribute to team deliverable through involvement in agile scrum development sprints
