Wood is currently seeking an experienced HSE Lead to join their team! In this role, you will be responsible for providing timely advice and guidance on all matters related to Health, Safety, and Environment. You will ensure compliance with legislation, company policy, management systems, and client requirements - ultimately reducing risks to the business. This position has the option to work remotely and may be seated anywhere in Canada. As the HSE Lead, you will report directly to the President of HSSE&S and support other members of the team. Responsibilities

• Implementation of Group HSE annual objectives and initiatives and development of company HSE objectives
• Providing support to Business Unit / Contract / Project Managers and HSE Advisors in the roll-out of Group HSE objectives and other initiatives
• Providing support to senior Managers and HSE Advisors in the timely reporting of both leading and lagging HSE Indicators
• Undertaking lagging indicator reviews of incident / accident trends and providing timely advice to senior Managers and Corporate Management on actions and initiatives
• Providing mentorship and training for graduate / new recruits into the HSE team as appropriate
• Providing cross-Business Unit support as required
• Developing HSE presentational material to support inductions and Group initiatives
• Manage HSSESQ coordinator to ensure timely reporting and coordination of regulatory / client databases
• Oversee BU Reporting framework for Quarterly and Monthly reporting and dashboard creation
• Set up of BU SharePoint Hub and ongoing management
• Development of Safety Award Program for Operations BU
  

Qualifications

• 15+ years in a technical role, or association with HSE role in another industry
• Excellent working knowledge with HSSESQ Management Systems
• Knowledge of ESG reporting standards and carbon data capture
• Good planning and organizational skills
• Effective / competent MS Office Suite User
• High level of communication skills in both written and spoken format
