Mechanical Engineer

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop detailed mechanical designs for substation components and underground cable systems.
• Create and review technical drawings, specifications, and plans.
• Ensure designs meet all relevant safety, quality, and environmental standards.
• Perform load calculations and stress analysis for mechanical components.
• Lead and manage mechanical engineering projects from conception to completion.
• Coordinate with other engineering disciplines, project managers, and stakeholders.
• Prepare project timelines, budgets, and resource allocation plans.
• Monitor project progress and make necessary adjustments to meet deadlines.
• Oversee the installation of mechanical systems in substations and underground cable routes.
• Conduct site inspections to ensure adherence to design specifications and safety standards.
• Provide technical support during construction and address any issues that arise.
• Implement quality control procedures to ensure high standards in all mechanical engineering tasks.
• Ensure compliance with local, national, and international codes and regulations.
• Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Master’s degree or professional certifications (e.g., PE, PMP) are a plus.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in mechanical engineering, with a focus on substations and underground cable laying.
• Proven track record of managing large-scale engineering projects.
• Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, etc.).
• Strong knowledge of mechanical systems used in electrical substations and underground cable installations.
• Familiarity with relevant standards and regulations (e.g., IEEE, IEC).
• Excellent project management and organizational skills.
