Job Purpose
To assist in managing monitoring and ensuring timely cost efficient and safe transportation/shipment of the components of Airline fleet and 3rd Party aircraft from technical stores to the designated and appointed service providers; laisse with freight/courier services companies for shipment; ensures that required documentation are complete ensuring the timely and accurate delivery of materials parts and equipment necessary for aircraft maintenance and operations.
Key Result Responsibilities
1. Works closely with Engineering stores & Inventory control and procurement teams to arrange inbound and outbound shipments and delivery within UAE ABY hubs and repair shops.
2. Liaises with the freight/courier services companies regarding the various kinds of shipments (including heavy shipments and dangerous goods) & delivery to required destinations
3. Seeks proposals for short term and longterm logistics services from shipping partners like DHL FedEx and customs handling agents with defined KPIs service levels scope of services and deliverables.
4. Monthly reviews of logistics service providers performance and work on improvement areas to ensure ABY requirements are consistently fulfilled by shipping partners.
5. Develops SOP for logistics management for part purchase and component movement at base and between the hubs ensuring all legal compliance. Coordinate with TCM team for enhancement of logistics management function to meet the pool part exchange program between base and hubs.
6. Design plan and lead the implementation to set up the store for pool component for effective storage and retrieval of components inventory control and reporting categories of parts storage as per severity and safety stock management for AOG under the TCM program. Design and publish stock reports for management review.
Key Result Responsibilities Continued
7. Keeps abreast of required permits for import and export of restricted parts apply procure and maintain the valid permits required by ABY for import of such restricted and regulated aircraft parts under ITAR EAR etc. Stays updated on relevant laws and regulations affecting logistics operations and update to all concerned stakeholders.
8. Maintains uptodate records both in system and files of all documentation related to inbound and outbound shipments.
9. Oversees the team of Logistics Assistant provide guidance & ensure they are trained and motivated.
10. Manages a team of logistics assistants with respect to morale discipline safety performance and training to ensure staff are developed motivated and contribute to continuous improvement in productivity.
11. Ensures photographs and correct packaging of all unserviceable components to be kept ready for transportation.
12. Performs Dangerous Goods declaration to ensure DG goods are transported as per the transportation rules and regulations.
Qualifications (Academic training languages)
  • Bachelors degree in commerce field or equivalent from a recognized university;
  • IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations training certificate is desirable.
  • Logistics Management using multimodal transport and International Trade
  • Warehousing Management
  • Customs tariff documentation and clearance management
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office skills.
  • Fluent in English Language.
  • Valid UAE Driving license is desirable.
Work Experience
  • 5 years of similar working experience in logistics and stores management in any technical industry; lowcost airline is an advantage.
  • Experienced in working with a team with heavy workload schedules and adhoc scenarios.
  • Capable of working in adherence to policies procedures and operating manuals as per business needs and in line with adopted regulations and approved quality standards.
  • Costoriented and problemsolving skills.
  • Ability to use technical expertise and interpersonal relations to support business objectives.
  • Demonstrates the ability to contribute and successfully deliver against business strategy and set KPIs.
