Porter Operating Services

• Makes sure the clinical areas are tidy and supplies and equipment are in place.
• Escorts patients between departments and or rooms.
• Helps patients with daily living if needed.
• Is adept and knowledgeable with the use of specific equipment used in the specific department specialty.
• Anticipates, recognizes, and manages emergencies, and unsafe situations/practice, and reports to the RN.
• If educated and deemed competent, takes vital signs, O2 saturation and blood sugar, and reports the same to the RN.
• Influences and facilitates change within the department to improve standards of care.
• Promotes an environment that enables patient safety, independence, quality of life and health.
• Performs all duties in a professional and confidential manner.

Experience

• Basic Education
• At least 2 years of general hospital experience required.
• Previous overseas experience required but not essential.
• Familiar with quality improvement, nursing standards, infection control and healthcare delivery systems.
• Familiar with all policies related to department and work environment.
• Able to locate all policies and other relevant documents from the Intranet portal.
