Corrects vehicle deficiencies by removing, repairing, modifying, refurbishing, assembling, disassembling, and replacing major assemblies, subassemblies, components, parts, or systems such as power, propulsion, electrical, air conditioning, fuel, emissions, brake, steering, and hydraulic systems; Complete machinery garage operations. Perform adjustments and balances including bearing loads, gear tooth connection, valve mechanisms, governors, oil systems, control linkage, clamps and traction units.
Verifies vehicle performance by conducting test drives; Adjusting controls and systems.
Adheres to federal and state vehicle requirements through engine testing, safety standards, and combustion monitoring.
Maintains vehicle appearance by cleaning, washing and painting.
Maintains vehicle records by recording services and repairs.
Maintains shop equipment operation by following operational instructions. Solve problems that occur in machines. Conserve supplies. Perform preventive maintenance. Request repairs.
Contains costs by using the warranty. Evaluate service and parts options.
Maintains availability of supplies by counting inventory. Submitting applications. Verify receipt.
Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities. Read technical and regulatory publications.
