JOB PURPOSE
Commercial Interior Design is the leading industry title in the Middle East. The position of Editor is suitable for skilled, dynamic and experienced journalist to run the title and work towards the whole group s long-term goals.
Working alongside the Group Editor, the Editor will work across print, digital and social media channels on innovative multi-media content. They must have a keen eye for detail and be able to spot a story, as well as being able to support the commercial team with creative solutions for clients and support the events team with our industry-leading awards, events and conferences.
Requirements
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- The overall production, execution and management of Commercial Interior Design across print and digital products.
- Maintaining a strong working relationship with the commercial team.
- The content strategy and planning of editorial calendar across digital, print, video, audio and social.
- The ideation and development of creative front covers for the monthly magazine.
- Meeting digital traffic targets and finding ways to grow the audience within brand guidelines.
- Supporting the Group Editor with the Commercial Interior Design annual awards processes and calendar of events.
- Ensuring all content reflects overall content/editorial strategy.
- Determine what medium is best suited for a particular content piece and making sure it is published to deadline.
- Ensure the title s editorial standards are met, all relevant copyrights have been cleared, the content is legally and morally safe, content is optimised for SEO and content meets local and legal guidelines.
- Being an ambassador for the title.
- Developing revenue-generating content strategies and establishing good external relationships.
- Representing the brand internally.
- Use contacts and social-media networks to identify industry trends and react to them with strong editorial content.
- Be able to attend events outside of office hours.
- Embrace a digital-first philosophy.
Technical Competencies
- Excellent knowledge of WordPress, Google Analytics, Adobe InDesign, MS Word and Excel
- Excellent knowledge of Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Twitter
- Adobe Photoshop, Premiere Pro, Illustrator and PowerPoint skills are desirable
