Job Description
- Design, operate, maintain, and repair mechanical systems of ships.
- Carry out major overhauls and De-carbs on Main engines & Generators.
- Training in Risk Assessment & Incident Investigation.
- Maintenance on Heat exchangers and various pipeline systems.
- Inspections and surveys on machineries.
- Inspect machinery and equipment and made sure that the equipment works properly before theship is launched.
- Responsible for carrying out onboard drinking water, boiler water & lube oil test. Specialize in repair and maintenance of ships when it is in dry dock.
- Design and oversaw testing, installation, and repair of marine apparatus and equipment.
- Operate and maintain propulsion systems and controls, bilge and fire systems, electrical components and HVAC systems.
- Evaluate equipment s before installation to ensure that all parts are complete, and none is missing.
- Evaluate malfunctioning equipment to diagnose issues.
- Coordinate day-to-day critical operations and prepared all maintenance reports and safety checkliststo facilitate record maintenance (USCG compliance)
- Specialize in working on marine machinery, 2-stroke and 4-stroke-diesel engines, boilers, compressorsand centrifugal oil separators.
- Maintain daily records of fuel oil lube oil, gas oil, marine diesel, and cylinder oil. Create month end reports and does paperwork for the designated machinery.
- Carry out planned maintenance routine under the supervision of Chief or Second Engineer
Requirements
- Minimum 10 years working experience with Engine makers or Marine/Offshore/Power Generation Industry preferably
- Good at English speaking and report writing
- Any Nationality
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Good team player with good attitude, integrity, interpersonal, organization and time management skills
- Excellent knowledge in troubleshooting and diagnostic tests to different types of diesel engines from different engine makers
- At least Diploma in Marine/Mechanical Engineering or similar
