- Diagnoses, rebuilds and repairs engines and equipment.
- Provides emergency/unscheduled repairs of engines and equipment.
- Performs inspections and preventive maintenance of engines and equipment.
- Conducting performance tests on vehicle, machines, equipment fleets, if overseeing their operation.
- Performs mechanic skills including, but not limited to, mechanical troubleshooting of engines and machines, and repair or replacement of faulty parts or systems.
- May sometimes integrate new technology into the engine structure
- Rebuild engines after passing their lifetime efficiency.
- Welding and cutting material if required, using arc welding or flame cutting equipment.
- Reads and interprets equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
- Prepares and maintains records and reports on service work conducted on engines.
- May act as lead person in supervisor’s absence.
- Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas.
- Holds light/heavy driving license
