Sr Data Engineer

About the job

This role is a seasoned professional using Business Intelligence tools to to extract, transform and load datasets for use by both client and internally focused Business Intelligence & Insights dashboards, and reports. They have a good understanding of other technologies like database management, web development and security principles. They will partner with our customers to design solutions that meet their needs. Their knowledge is recognised within the team and they will provide guidance, coaching and mentoring to other BI Data Engineers

Job Responsibilities:

● Lead solution design discussions, and take the lead on the creation of design specifications, ensuring proposed solutions are feasible and meet the stated business requirements

● Independently develops datasets to support Business Intelligence dashboards, reports and applications

● Is a key contributor in defining the team's development framework

● Implement solutions following the appropriate change and code control processes and tools. Complete all corresponding documentation

● Monitor production of own and other team members solutions ensuring production issues are quickly identified and analysed

● Independently identifies and correct complex production errors related to overall team responsibilities.

● Supports other team members by analysing production issues and make recommendations on how recurring issues can be addressed

● Communicate effectively with Business Intelligence stakeholders in relation to Business Intelligence outages and data governance issues

● Understand potential drivers behind data quality issues and independently investigate and/or leverages appropriate resources effectively to resolve even complex issues that occur

● Take ownership for the production of documentation that supports end user knowledge of Business Intelligence & Insights solutions delivered

● Supports other team members in establishing their approach to solution development

● Support other team members through code reviews and providing recommendations on how they can improve solutions

● Through coaching and mentoring, supports the development of other BI Engineers

● Is recognised as a leader within the team and demonstrates a high level of expertise in one or more specific subject areas. Co-ordinates and provides support to the development team in these areas by sharing knowledge through documentation, posts, Wiki entries and training

● Is pro-active and demonstrates good judgement in determining how the team can improve. Takes the lead in recommending processes, tools and techniques to improve both our solutions and our overall contribution to Concentrix and our clients.

● Both creates and delivers effective training to audiences from both within and outside of the team.

● Build relationships with key personnel outside of own team, leveraging those resources as needed in the support of the teams goals

● Contributes to the definition of best practice for BI development within the organisation

● Supports the adoption of BI tools and execution of associated processes and best practice across the organization

● Contribute insights and recommendations in relation to the strategic roadmap for the team
