Job Summary
Lead process pre-commissioning commissioning and start-up activities for Oil & Gas projects. The role is responsible for technical leadership safe execution schedule control cross-discipline coordination and achieving stable operating conditions.
Key Responsibilities
- Review project specifications drawings P&IDs and contractual documents to define commissioning scope requirements constraints and risks.
- Develop commissioning execution plans integrated start-up schedules procedures and method statements for leak testing chemical cleaning oil flushing air/steam blowing catalyst loading and plant start-up.
- Lead commissioning engineers operators subcontractors and specialist vendors while monitoring progress resources man-hours and costs.
- Verify construction completion and system readiness before handover to commissioning; conduct line walks internal inspections and package readiness checks.
- Lead safe commissioning and start-up of systems and equipment until stable operating conditions are achieved.
- Monitor DCS operations alarms trips logic interlocks permissives and overrides as well as key process parameters.
- Participate in P&ID reviews HAZOP HAZID FAT SAT and performance testing; identify design discrepancies and coordinate corrective action.
- Conduct or support JSA toolbox talks risk reviews and client progress meetings ensuring full HSE compliance.
- Coordinate with engineering construction QA/QC HSE and other commissioning disciplines and provide technical guidance.
- Bachelors degree in Chemical Process or a related Engineering discipline.
- Minimum 6 years of relevant Oil & Gas industry experience.
- Strong hands-on experience in process pre-commissioning commissioning and start-up.
Proven experience leading multidisciplinary teams subcontractors and vendors.
Required Skills:
Requirements 6 years of EIT site/construction experience with international Oil & Gas EPC companies/subcontractors. Electrical Instrumentation or Telecom construction background. Middle East CIS/FSU or North Africa experience preferred. Experience working with diverse international teams. Good knowledge of NEC/NFPA IEEE NEMA and IEC standards. Strong troubleshooting and subcontractor management skills. PTW LOTO and Arc Flash training; ATEX preferred.
