JOB PURPOSE:

Reporting to the Sales and Operations Manager, The Head of Recovery and Collections will the collections operations process from intake until recovery as per the collections strategy of the
You will be accountable for providing strategic direction and guidance on a broad and diverse range of complex operational activities and also lead the development of the overall direction, operating budget, delivering business objectives and overall people management for the Collections

Responsibilities:

Branch Management

  • Lead and direct the development and implementation of the branch s strategic plan and

  • Identify and implement action plans and regularly track and review performance to ensure the achievement of the set

  • To lead any branch projects ( Process changes, sales ) and support the launch of new

  • Responsible for the smooth running of the branch by planning branch

  • Responsible for preparation and submission of daily, weekly and monthly reports to

  • Ensure clients files are in safe custody and Ensure safe custody of branch

  • Ensure branch Office management affair (office arrangement, security).

  • Responsible for supervision of MCL activities in the Branch to ensure that they are carried out in accordance with the laid down procedures and

Relationship Management

  • Meet regularly with the branch customers including important/ high net worth customers in order to assist in the growth of

  • Promote high level of customer service culture among the branch staffs for potential

  • Maintain sound relationships with all new clients and maintain business relationships with all existing clients to increase retention ;

  • Monitor continuously customer complaints and mystery shopping results and recommend necessary measures and initiatives to improve the retention rate and to ensure high customer

Marketing and Disbursement

  • Achieve a loan disbursement target of 30,000,000 per ;

  • Proactively market and generate business through Individual and SME client recruitment on

  • Stimulate branch growth through marketing of Mwananchi s products and recruitment of new Cross sell all products and services to both existing and potential

  • Ensure all data is properly keyed into the system on

  • Monitor loan approvals and the loan status of the branch, disbursements, repayments and

  • Responsible for loan appraisals and recommendations as per

Risk Management

  • Delinquency management in view of maintaining portfolio quality at acceptable Monitor the portfolio quality on a daily basis and proactively institute remedial

  • Oversee credit risk framework, implement credit strategies, policies and procedures in line with the Mwananchi s corporate strategy and ensure

  • Maintain high quality portfolio by ensuring on time payments of loans and being zero tolerant of

  • Initiate repossession through head of debt

Human Capital

  • Responsible for supervision of the branch

  • Responsible for recruitment of branch staff in liaison with HR

  • Ensure staff members in the branch are well acquainted, and adhere to the company policies and

  • Train and supervise Team Leaders and their Marketing Executive, Ensure proper time management, Motivate, inspire, coach and develop branch staff to achieve set

  • Steer the Branch into high level performance standards through proper supervision of staff and maintenance of a healthy loan

Legal Issues

  • Record statements with the lawyer for any upcoming court

  • Prepare affidavits for court

  • Attend court sessions and

  • Any other duty assigned to you by



Requirements


  • Education Qualification - Any Bachelor Degree

  • Numerically savvy, able to work with data, perform analysis and communicate

  • Excellent analytical skills, quantitative and

  • Experience of working in a commercial debt recovery environment would be an

  • Proficiency and good IT skills and knowledge are

  • Judgement to balance commercial debt recovery and compliance risks to achieve positive

  • Maintains the highest professional

  • Ability to build supportive relationships with everyone across the

  • Excellent communication and leadership skills with an ability to influence at all
