Job Summary

We are seeking a Downstream Process Engineer with experience in Thermal cracking (Delayed Coker / Visbreaking) processes to join our Global Manufacturing Excellence organization under the Downstream Global Manufacturing Support Department (GMSD). GMSDs technical team is a multidisciplinary team provides the required highquality technical support to GM operating facilities (Refineries NGLF and petrochemical plants) inside the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia & across the globe. Your primary role will be to provide process engineering and operations expertise to monitor optimize and drive performance improvement programs for refineries thermal cracking processes including remote and field technical advisory support benchmarking and Delayed Coker / Visbreaker technology knowledge management and exchange. You will drive the performance improvement programs which enhance process safety optimize manufacturing cost and increase plant reliability.

Key Responsibilities

• Review and monitor the performance of existing Thermal cracking (Delayed Coker / Visbreaker) facilities using key performance indicators (KPIs) related to operability profitability reliability and process safety.
• Issue quarterly performance benchmarking reports highlighting KPIs analysis and performance improvement recommendations.
• Monitor and support the facilities in implementing the recommendations and closing performance gaps identified in the benchmarking reports.
• Conduct benchmarking and best practice exchange workshops among Global Manufacturing facilities with Thermal cracking (Delayed Coker / Visbreaker) process technologies.
• Provide ondemand remote and/or field technical advisory support to Global Manufacturing facilities on matters related to the operation of Thermal cracking (Delayed Coker / Visbreaker) plants including process troubleshooting startup and shutdown activities capacity test runs technology pilot testing and process design. Issue service reports for each support activity provided highlighting facility needs actions taken results and lessons learned.
• Collaborate with Global Manufacturing facilities engineers to propose cost optimization or process improvement initiatives focusing on lowhanging fruits with minimal or no capital investment required through operational adjustment or design modification.
• Conduct internal assessments on Thermal cracking (Delayed Coker / Visbreaker) process engineering standards using This Company engineering standard references highlighting deviations or more optimal standards applied by affiliates for endorsement to facility management or This Company Central Engineering.
• Act as the coordinator for implementing Global Manufacturing and Corporate programs at Thermal cracking (Delayed Coker / Visbreaker) operating facilities for execution and effective monitoring.
• Participate in business plan development and coordinate with stakeholders for capital investments in assigned process units supporting technoeconomic evaluations.
• Support the arrangement and facilitation of technical knowledge exchange workshops with Thermal cracking (Delayed Coker / Visbreaker) process technology licensors and Global Manufacturing facilities.
• Provide inhouse technical training to Global Manufacturing facilities when needed.
• Participate in hazard operability (HAZOP) and safety integrity level (SIL) studies as required by Thermal cracking (Delayed Coker / Visbreaker) operating facilities.
• Participate in incident investigation activities related to Thermal cracking (Delayed Coker / Visbreaker) process technologies as required by operating facilities.

Requirements:

• This role required candidate to permanently relocate at Dhahran Saudi Arabia.
• Bachelors degree in Chemical Engineering or a related specialization. An advanced degree is preferred.
• Minimum of 15 years of total experience in refinery process units including experience in process engineering and operations.
• At least 10 years experience in handling Delayed Coker / Visbreaker plants.
• Exposure to different licensor technologies for Thermal cracking Delayed Coker / Visbreaker is preferred.
