Conversation Contributor

Most bilingual people don't speak one language at a time. Mid-sentence, an English word just lands better — so that's the word you use. If that's how you talk day to day, we want to record it. We're looking for native Gulf Arabic speakers who are also proficient in English and naturally mix English into everyday conversation. You'll join an online call with one other participant and record several natural, unscripted conversations in Gulf Arabic, switching into English exactly the way you normally would in real life. Each session runs about 3.5 hours and includes a minimum of 7 recorded conversations with your partner. You'll need a stable internet connection, a dedicated external microphone or headset (built-in laptop mics won't cut it), and a completely quiet, private space with zero background noise. You should also be comfortable speaking conversationally for extended stretches — up to 30 minutes at a time.

Why it matters: this data trains speech recognition and voice AI to understand how Arabic speakers actually talk — real code-switching, not textbook Arabic. You're helping build the tech that finally works for people who speak the way you do.

What you need

● 18+, a native speaker of Gulf Arabic, proficient in English

● You genuinely switch between the two in daily conversation — not forced, not rehearsed

● Stable internet connection and a dedicated external microphone or headset with mic

● A second adult (18+) participant to record the conversation with you — a friend, family member, or colleague works fine
