UTILITIES MAINTENANCE ENGINEER
JOB DESCRIPTION
Utilities Maintenance Engineer is responsible for the upkeep efficient functioning and reliability of utility systems such as
electrical power Water supply HVAC Building and Fire safety systems
Responsibilities:
& Maintenance:
1. Inspect maintain and troubleshoot utility equipment including LV power distribution system HVAC units water and
Compressed air system.
2. Plan and implement preventive correction and predictive maintenance program to minimize downtime
3. Monitor system performance through control system and meters ensuring compliance with operation standards.
2. Technical Expertise:
1. Diagnose electrical and mechanical faults in utility systems and coordinate repairs
2. Ensure proper calibration of instruments like flow meters pressure gauges and energy meters
3. Collaborate with technicians to replace worn out components such as pumps motors valves and circuit breakers
3. Compliance & Safety:
1. Adhere to safety protocols and regulations (UAE) to ensure the safe operation of utility infrastructure
2. Maintain documentation for maintenance activities and comply with ISO standards
3. Coordinate with government bodies or contractors for inspection permits and certification when needed
4. Energy Management & Optimization:
1.
Monitor energy usage to identify opportunities for efficiency improvements
2.
Suggest upgrades to reduce operational costs (e.g. energy-efficient equipment or automation systems)
3.
Implement energy saving initiatives such as load management or equipment retrofits
5. Project Management:
1.
Manage small to medium size improvement or expansion projects related to utilities and building
2.
Prepare budgets Schedules and resource plans for maintenance and repair projects
3.
Coordinate with external contractors and vendors for specialized services or equipment procurement
6. Team Collaboration
1.
Work closely with other departments (production safety or Engineering) to ensure smooth utility services
2.
Train and supervise Utility technicians
3.
Maintain relationships with vendors and service providers to ensure timely supply of spare parts and equipment
7. Internal & External Audit Compliances
1.
Assist the Engineering Coordinator on the preparation of documents and facing the Internal & External Audits.
2.
Complying on the NCRs and suggestion made during the audit.
3.
Taking preventive measures for the next audits.
4.
Compliance and knowledge about QMS ISO 9001:2015; 45001:2018 FSSC 22000 V6 EMS ISO 14001:2015 FSMA Registration HACCP Certification HALAAL KOSHER and Other External Bodies.
8. Quality and Food Safety
1.
Authorize to instruct all the technicians to follow the maintenance activity according to food safety requirements.
2.
Ensure that all technicians are following the correct dress code and hygiene code when in controlled areas.
3.
Issuing and approving the work instructions that describe how to operate each machine in accordance with HACCP principles and procedures necessary to ensure consumer safety.
4.
Ensuring that a maintenance and calibration schedule is adhered.
5.
Ensure that machines cleaning and measuring equipment comply with FSSC22000 and FSMA expectations.
6.
Providing training to operators to enable them to operate machines and measuring equipment in accordance with FSMS & FSMA requirements.
7.
To inspect machines for loose or missing screws or any other potential hazards.
8.
Participates in food safety meetings and brainstorming exercises.
