QA/QC Engineer plays a crucial role in ensuring that construction projects adhere to established quality standards and meet regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement quality control plans and procedures for construction projects.
- Conduct regular inspections to verify compliance with project specifications codes and standards.
- Review and approve quality-related documentation such as material submittals and testing reports.
- Monitor and assess construction activities to ensure they align with approved plans and specifications.
- Identify and document non-compliance issues and work with project teams to develop corrective action plans.
- Conduct audits of subcontractors and suppliers to ensure they meet quality requirements.
- Maintain accurate records of inspections tests and quality-related documentation.
- Generate reports detailing QA/QC findings trends and recommendations for improvement.
- Provide timely updates to project stakeholders on quality performance.
- Provide guidance and training to project teams on QA/QC processes and requirements.
- Conduct workshops or seminars to promote a culture of quality within the organization.
- Stay up to date with relevant industry standards codes and regulations.
- Ensure that construction activities align with local state and federal requirements.
- Collaborate closely with project managers engineers architects and subcontractors to address quality-related issues.
- Participate in project meetings to provide input on QA/QC matters.
- External Communications: Help others get the most out of external communications systems by offering support and advice.
- Construction Management: Supervise others on a construction project working within established operational systems.
- Health Safety and Environment: Follow the organizations health safety and environment (HSE) policies procedures and mandatory instructions to identify and mitigate environmental risks and risks to the well-being of self and others in the workplace; instruct the team in safe working methods; identify instances of risky behaviors within the team and take appropriate action escalating serious issues as appropriate.
- Work Scheduling and Allocation: Assign short-term work schedules to a team of subordinates in order to achieve expectations while following established timelines.
- Leadership and Direction: Communicate the local action plan; explain how this relates to the functions strategy and action plan and to the broader organizations mission and vision; motivate people to achieve local business goals.
- Performance Management: Respond to personal objectives and use performance management systems to improve personal performance; or monitor the performance of the team allocate work and review completion take appropriate corrective action to ensure timeliness and quality and contribute to formal individual performance management and appraisal.
- Organizational Capability Building: Provide coaching to team members to develop their skills.
- Quality Assurance: Plan and coordinate testing and inspection of products and processes. Implement corrective actions or continuous improvement initiatives and monitor them to make sure they are effective.
- Operational Compliance: Identify within the team instances of noncompliance with the organizations policies and procedures and/or relevant regulatory codes and codes of conduct reporting these instances and escalating issues as appropriate.
- Client & Customer Management (External): Help senior colleagues manage client and customer relationships by using relevant sales or client systems.
