Responsibilities
As the Permanent Director of Sales, you will be responsible for
- Developing and implementing strategic sales plans to achieve company goals and objectives.
- Identifying new business opportunities and expanding the company's customer base in the retail and wholesale sectors.
- Managing key customer relationships and participating in closing strategic opportunities.
- Leading the sales team to drive sales growth, ensuring that they meet or exceed sales targets.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to develop and implement product strategies.
- Managing and overseeing the private label product portfolio.
- Providing market feedback to the company leadership regarding competitive offerings, prospect needs, and generating product development ideas.
- Navigating complex business processes and acting as a key liaison between the customer and internal teams.
- Ensuring all food handling and safety standards are met in compliance with CA regulations.
Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in a sales leadership role within the CPG industry, specifically in food manufacturing.
- Proven track record of achieving sales growth and business development objectives.
- Extensive knowledge of the pizza, baked goods, bakery, and cheese markets.
- Experience in managing retail and wholesale distribution channels.
- Proficiency in managing private label products.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate, present, and influence credibly and effectively at all levels of the organization.
- Strong understanding of customer and market dynamics and requirements.
- A valid CA food handler certification.
- Excellent negotiation skills and the ability to close deals.
- Ability to travel as needed.
